Yep you can pick up eclipse sensor clean at almost all camera stores. You want the Eclipse E2 Cleaning Fluid for Tin Oxide Sensors. (about US$9)

you will also need some PEC pads.
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/pr…and a sensor swipe (little spatula that the pec pads wrap around)

hmmm...well...i don't know.
i thought i had to buy it from a specific place in the states...or couldn't get it in the states.
shit, sorry. so i can just pick this up at any camera store?

cant you buy eclipse fluid and pec pads etc from your local photography shop? Its standard supply stuff.
- lvl_130
i could slappy...the biggest thing is i really wanted it clean before i was in nyc on friday :/
ah well...

Just use the copperhill method lvl, its very safe and the instructions are very detailed.
There is actually a glass uv filter infront of the sensor that is a few mm thick. If you use the right eclipse fluid and proper pec pads attached to a sensor spatula you will be safe as houses.
Do a few test run on plain glass to be sure the pec pad is not over saturated so its doesnt drip solution into the sensor. The solution evaporates leaving a dry clean sensor in seconds.

hey lvl
email me tomorrow, i am gonna ask, maybe what you can do is mail the camera here first and get that cleaned by the time you get here, only if they did few day turn around..
but shipping the camera would cost too much maybe..
hmmmm

hmm why not call them tomorrow? they are usually very helpful
ask them for same day cleaning, if available. and if so, make an appointment.
i have a feeling that they wont do that.
O also, they are on jewish holiday soon, not sure exactly when that is.. o wait here it is.
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/find…If you go down there and ask them for cleaning kit, they will teach you how to do it and whats best for your camera.

that's great info thanx! :) I just got a 30D :) yay. which i love of course.
i'm also curious (staying kinda on the camera subject) can anyone recommend camera bags that don't look like camera bags :)
thanx!see ya'll at qbn!

i was just curious if you knew if
b + h did a one-day cleaning off hand. i could of course call them, but thought i would ask you because it seems as if you have taken cameras there before :)i called the major camera outfitter here (national camera) and they told me it would take a week...so that won't work :/
i guess i could just shoot with a drity sensor in nyc and get it cleaned when i get back...meh.

yesssss?

- lvl_130
thanks for the info shane. i actually took my camera to the canon building you are talking about around 8 months ago :) unfortunatley, i'm no longer in socal and i don't have that luxury anymore :\
although, i haven't even thought to look into other canon locations...i guess i just figured there wasn't one in minneapolis or other surrounding areas. maybe i will get lucky...

I didn't read each post to know if this was mentioned but you can send it into Canon for Free and they will clean it. Or if you have a local Canon center you can take it in and they will do it within an hour. I live in Southern California and there is one 15 minutes away (sorry if this isn't an option not trying to rub it into your faces). You can take it in at lunch and pick it up on your way back to work. If you send it in I think it takes a week and costs the postage but they do it for free and do not ask for any warranty information at all.
