Just use the copperhill method lvl, its very safe and the instructions are very detailed.
There is actually a glass uv filter infront of the sensor that is a few mm thick. If you use the right eclipse fluid and proper pec pads attached to a sensor spatula you will be safe as houses.
Do a few test run on plain glass to be sure the pec pad is not over saturated so its doesnt drip solution into the sensor. The solution evaporates leaving a dry clean sensor in seconds.
