haha, fat chance para, but a nice idea..
I think CTS is only one type of RSI, a particularly bad un...

Hmm...you should get it checked out, in case it is that. Possibly attempt to exercise (I know, I can't believe I suggested that, but I have to try...) and work out that hand / arm more (unless it REALLY hurts, and then you'd have to get some medication or something).

good idea material, I'll switch careers and practice homeopathy

(Jun 13 07, 06:02)so you'd suggest I switch hands then?
- chossy0
yes I do actually...... :/
I got a massage for my christmas and I got some big guy to give me the once over it was ace I was drifting around for the rest of the day :D shame he beefed me at the end though apart from that great real top drawer stuff.
- Jaline0
yeah, try chossy's
- chossy0
yes if you switch hands it feels like someone else someone not as good as the one you normally use if you get what I mean, you can't rub out knuckle children the same way with the other hand.

yeah, I had very bad back ache years ago and a tres hot chiropractor kneaded my back etc for an hour, I felt pure magic efter, didnae get to shag her though which was a shame.

From what I know [v. little, obviously, but i somehow still feel the need to comment], sharp searing pains are the indicator of RSI. Get yourself to a doctor and get a check up and stop relying on the hokum of witless pundits like us. Well, me - I suspect the rest of you are somewhat more bewitted than I.

chossy, I usually stick my hand in the fridge till it goes numb to get that 'someone else is doing it' effect, someone from alaska or some unhappy shit though

I had the same thing last year. Got rid of it pretty much. Address how you are sitting, and holding your arm when working. You want to get your arm and wrist as perpendicular to your body as possible. And then periodically, like on the hour, give your arm a bit of a massge (and other bits of you like), and move it around, getting the blood going.
Also, if it's really bad, see if you can get a dr. to prescribe some muscle relaxants. I took em for a week, and it really helped. If those things don't help, you might need to get snipped. I here it's pretty simple.

massages are super cool :D, I love em, I guess I have maybe six a year or so not that many I suppose, but it's great isn't it kelpie, I personally feel lovely and relaxed and lots of wee niggly problems dissappear for the day worth the money I reckon and a nice way to unwind better than getting reeking and spending all your money then waking up in the morningn and crting in the shower not that I do this ...... much :'(

-------------sounds like this,
could be that,
i think ive got this cos ive seen it on tv or read about it on the internet.soon docs wont exist, your friend will easily be able to tell you whats wrong with you.
kelpie, just get yourself to your docs and ask him/her or get along to a massage place that know their sh*t and theyl be able to advise you on what is wrong and how to avoid it.
when im stressed with workload and i have to work on comp i get a sore arm and shoulder. years ago id went to someone and they cracked my shoulder good and proper and it takes the pain away for a few hours while stressed. so i learned how to 'pop' it myself - no point in paying £35 a session to get it done by someone else when you can do it for free lol.

crting = crying

wah, what do they snip? are we still talking about the RSI portion of the thread?!
