why schools? it's often in/to schools that this happens.
why not at other public places?

the admin thought it was a domestic case and isolated, Nobody could have predicted the second incident.
I wish the media would stop stirring the pot on that.

Man looking at CNN right now is messed up. I realize people are interested in the story but hey, 100's of people die in iraq every day. Put virginia tech all in one fucking story with sidebars, you whores.

society has got issues when it breeds crazies like this.

(Apr 18 07, 17:48)Nah... I think this was the kids self-esteem / self-image issues at work. He probably felt like an outsider his whole life... and maybe a lot of that was his own sense of perception. Maybe he came from a strict family who supressed a lot of his wants or ignored him as a kid?
The monotonous tone and emotionlessness in his voice tells you he really is going through the motions. I didn't get a sense there was a motivating/driving force behind his actions, just a contorted view of self vs. world.

i really wonder. what if guns were less accessible? it would still occur, like here in NL, but maybe less?
sad though. :'(

no, i;m just pointing out to you that every developed capitaist country in the world has had violent clashes with its labour movement. And none but the Americans have enshrined the right for every INDIVIDUAL to bare arms against it's own govenemrnt
who decides what a legitimate reason is?
I think THAT'S treading dangerous territory and is undemorcratic.
the right to violent uprising against a democratic governmetn is ALWAYS illegal, therefore illegitimate. So the 2nd amendment, to me, seems liek a paradox.

maybe its a combo of birth control and gun control that is needed

v5, I understand where you're coming from - truly. This kind of event blinds people with either anger or sadness and they forget what happened and whom it happened to. Kind of what began to happen in this thread. Though I don't post too often, I always find your opinions interesting to read.
You can't, however, deny the tragedy here. marginalising it doesn't help anyone either. imagine what kind of a world we'd live in if we all walked away from the holocaust saying "they were alive, now they're dead let's leave it at that"
- Jaline0
yeah, there's no use in bringing that up. although now I bet if that happened somewhere else they'd evacuate the school immediately.

take away guns and some people may choose to go on stabbing sprees instead...
gun control in my opinion is more disaster management. less/no guns will obviously minimize the odds of a larger number of people being involved in a gun incident. doesn't stop the person from commiting the violent act...

frdm and gruise are fucking loudmouths.

Upon further inspection, if you search the cnn.com site right now there is only one reference to Iraq.
The most fucked up thing about it is is the link is beyond the fold twice and a link to a comedy story on the Onion.http://www.theonion.com/content/…
America is so masturbatory it is silly.
- Jaline0
exactly, Gucci.
I agree about him being a loner, and also seeing many people like that around me.
