you would have a hard time killing 33 people with a rock kona. if you were trying to make the point that gun control isn't an issue in this.

because if the hate filled man didn't live in a society that glorified the gun-toting hero and made its weapons available in grocery stores for virtually any idiot to come pick one up, these things wouldn't happen with this sort of frequency.

It's the nature of the web, it is all dynamic. It isn't like you are laying out a magazine.

DC has been getting taxed without representation for ages.

one of his teachers was so worried about him that she complained to the college board, but the board apparently said no one had any real proof to push the idea of him getting some more help...

blaming movies now, has he trotted out GTA yet, if he does I win the daily double.

Very sad..

the 2nd amendment was turned into a farce years ago...
... and now needs to be backspaced out of the Bill of Rights.
I hate guns.
PonyBoy
(Apr 16 07, 11:52)I'm really surprised. I thought you were more for gun-control.
Interesting.

The USA will not be banning guns in your lifetime.
mrdobolina
(Apr 17 07, 13:07)of course it won't.
America is the largest weapons manufacturer on planet earth,And the demand for its products all over the planet is only going to increase.
I think there is a better chance to be able to see more shootings, and eventually we will all need to get a gun, like beign in the box that has 100 guns, no one wants to be the one that doesn't have any when the next ammo sprinkle comes down from the sky.

gucci,
i don't feel there is any way this guy can go through life, especially in higher education, with no one reaching out to care for him in any way. he CHOSE rejection. blamed it on his wealthy peers, and chose to be fucking CRAZY. and he's prolly right generations more of fucking CRAZY kids like him can look up to him.the jesus part is really sad.
what an idiot.
he's obviously mental when he's like 'you don't know what its like to have your throught slit, or torched alive' ---- neither does he. he has no rationality.

so what is the plan to ban the guns then?
I want logistics you idealogues. Bonseff has the best plan yet.

(Apr 19 07, 07:00)Here in the Netherlands (even though there is a difference as these were illegal) they had this campaign going on where you could voluntarily hand in our firearm without being arrested, the police even gave out frisbees and other things in exchange, don't remember if money was involved as well. yet this did work, even if you would not believe this in theory..
aaaaaaaaaahh, shite, too long ago, i guess money was involved.. but that would make the US more bankrupt..
so i have no idea.
maybe everyone should melt their guns and make it to one GIANT metal wall around the US, works a charm against terrerrerrism as well!

Ponyboy, reporters are doing what they've always done. To expect them to change the way they ask questions at a press conference is a lost cause. Maybe it seems like it'd be easy to change that...I mean...they could have them take turns and actually come up with meaningful questions, but even the reporters are in awe of what has happened and are in a rush to get the story. First and foremost, they are trying to do their job. And without them the public wouldn't actually know anything.
Just as the police officers are, and for that they should be given a break. I don't agree that they would've easily been able to capture the killer within those two hours. That's just unrealistic.
Security probably did all they could, although the timeline and not getting the rest of the students off campus is bit sketchy. Then again, it makes sense to block off just one building (where the first two shootings occurred) and not cause panic everywhere else by evacuating and/or warning people through the P.A. system .
- mrdobolina0
you should really have to be a citizen to get a gun, eh?
- Nairn0
imo, the 'right to bear arms' kind of became redundant after western governments industrialised warfare during WWI.
What use a rifle against a tank? A plane? a Nuke?

Yeah Jaline, Anastasia Rebecca from Dawson College.

Interesting question Jaline. I wouldn't want to be involved in either situation but from a certain distance a knife is more dangerous than a gun. And I mean dangerous in the sense of your odds being higher for getting hit vs. actual damage done...
I took some training in martial arts a few years ago where they recreated a demo they did with local law enforcement. Within a distance of 10 ft, it was quicker to pull out a knife and slash than it was to pull a gun out and shoot. That's still a pretty controlled senario but still, a knife is really just a dangerous up close.

if u outlawed guns, would that mean more home made bombs?
- Jaline0
yeah, that part was disturbing. I can't wait for the religion discussion about this!!!
(that was some sarcasm)
Look, I agree with you bliz, but if he's mentality ill there's some ambiguity around "choice". Obviously he wasn't strong enough to do anything though.

this is nuts
