- mattyd040

I'm not sure if anyone else has commented on this...
... but if you're going to go to NY w/Boston Team sports...
... and expect to find work...
... you're out of your MIND!! :D
Although.. I think I detected a camo-green yankMee logo in there... that might save you. :)
(lost points with pony though)
--->srsly:
strong design/graphics... i didn't pay attention to the concepts so much cuz I'm motha-fuckin' A.D.D...
...but, beautiful handmade feel... very 'artisan/skilled'... love the water color etc...I'd be confident w/this stuff. :)

i wouldn't repeat the same wording for the second half of your presentations.
perhaps mention the process you went through for the pieces .. watercolor etc. .. make it interesting for the reader.
since these people don't know you i imagine they'll try to get any personality clues they can by reading what you've written.

fair enough.

Oh and I noticed the Next and previous arrows jump up and down on certain projects. not sure if they're supposed to be consistent.

(Dec 14 06, 13:35)Yea, man, put them at the top or something I like to blindly kick without moving my mouse, hehe.
Also ... why does the Information section have a slight colour to the background?
Good stuff!
I always liked the hand written steez for your Chappelle spread!

nice work really dig it. as for political stuff i guess it depends on how bad you want to get hired. personally i would leave it in there b/c i would not want to work with people who get offended easily.

HAHAHA mattyd.
The 20 bucks would go to a good cause though. Booze.

(Dec 14 06, 13:41)When you introduce yourself on interviews, you should firmly shake hands and then immediately punch everyone in the groin. You will thus achieve a completely neutral greeting.
Just kidding, nice work.

If you enjoy communicating those kind of messages, why would you want to attract work that yaren't interested in? Seems that illustration is one of your strong points. I'd say fuck getting a job and start freelancing your services to various agencies.
- skelly0
fwiw, I did get that it was neither pro or anti from the description.

haha, a buddy of mine is going to be out of town for the month so im taking his room while he's gone.

ive tried to fix that freaking 'prev/next' thing but every time i try to move it around, i always screw the code up somehow. ill keep at it though.
and the bg color is meant to add a little--how do you say it?--je nes se quoi.
- mattyd040
that was the strategy i used before. which is probably why i was having such a hard time getting a call back...
- PonyBoy0
what's your end-goal, matty?
what kinda joint are you looking to get in with?
cuz... as you can see - there are many diff. realms of designers from corpo to posh boutique gigs commenting here...
... and I've actually taken all this advice and lumped it on myself as I'm rebuilding my folio myself...
... and I can't make a decision on 'where' I'd put the Bush piece if it were mine...
... cuz, it 'could' hurt OR it could be a heralding factor that they'll remember you for...
... so I guess it comes down to 'who' you want to work for. Your a skilled chap - I'm pretty sure you're a fine fit at any number of places...
... so.. 'aim' for the positions that you really want. Research who you're interviewing for or who you're presenting to...
... adjust as you see fit to adequately 'sell yourself' to each potential employer... and in order to do that... you need to research who it is that is interviewing you (look at their work... read their 'about' section) etc etc...
... else, I think you'll be adjusting your portfolio left and right based on the critique of one person vs. the other in a non-ending cycle of pure hellish turmoil that will cost you sleep, diminish your sex drive and make you an all-around unfriendly fella... nahmean? :)
