Oh, haha Pony - my other post got cut off.
I'm Irish-Catholic (personal preferance with the dash).

voting for the us president is a lot like trying to decide on the best smelling asshole.
- PonyBoy0
If you work in a stripmalll, shop in a stipmall, eat in a stripmall and pray in a stripmall, you shouldn't be allowed to vote or reproduce in any manner.
^ and that's the majority of modern american right wing.

1) I'm not entirely serious
2) I think your analogy is off base. One is a prejudice based on an innate condition. The other is a prejudice based on intelligence and politcal agenda.

It's all about having your cake and eating it too.
No matter the flavour.

dobs, why is everyone who does not share your view somehow wrong or using flawed logic?

(Nov 28 06, 10:32)Mimio said it best, that is how opinions work.
Anyone who voted for bush and doesnt admit their mistake at this point doesnt read.
- Mimio0
Also, let's not collectively waste another breath defending the status quo. It's decidedly poor and immoral.

(Nov 28 06, 10:58)"how is this different from being a monday-morning quarterback? do you have a time machine that allows you to see an alternate future with john kerry at the helm?

hahahah
- mrdobolina0
That's the rub, John.
Getting our country into an elective war pretty much sealed the deal.
Now before you people get all hell bent on me being this huge liberal. I do not want congress and the president to be all democrat.
It breeds corruption when there are no arguments or checks and balances. No matter what party it is.
- monkeyshine0
I hate to say it, I really, really hate to say it...but my prediction is that McCain is going to be the next president.
Hillary will get my vote.

Bless Newt and his delusions of grandeur that he will ever be president of the united states.

and this is offtopic-but related to the ny crime discussion. if you have not read malcom gladwell's the tipping point" and you work in advertising/marketin g, definitely worth a read. he devotes a whole chapter to the several small changes which he believes are directly responsible for the dramatic drop in new york's crime (much more so than the drop experienced nation-wide at the time). here's a snippet if anyone's interested: wikisummaries.org/The_...
i can't say how insightful and relevant the book is.

freakanomics also dedicated some time to this topic, and concluded that it was roe vs wade that caused the drop nationwide

Clinton Pardoned Hastings’s Co-Conspirator
The pardon documents listed Borders’s crime this way: “Conspiracy to corruptly solicit and accept money in return for influencing the official acts of a federal district court judge (Alcee L. Hastings), and to defraud the United States in connection with the performance of lawful government functions; corruptly influencing, obstructing, impeding and endeavoring to influence, obstruct and impede the due administration of justice, and aiding and abetting therein; traveling interstate with intent to commit bribery.” The document did not mention Borders’s contempt. (That same day, Clinton also pardoned another contemnor, Whitewater figure Susan McDougal, who went to jail rather than reveal whether the president testified truthfully at her trial.)

Alcee Hastings.
Are you fucking kidding me? He was impeached for taking a bribe. How in the fuck are you going to leave that cat in charge of intelligence?
Ethics, Nancy Pelosi?
Hypocrisy at work once again. It'll be interesting to see how this BS folds out in the near future.
