'I'm ashamed for my country.'
http://www.cnn.com/2006/SHOWBIZ/…
My favorite line.
"From September 12 on, the incident (the attacks) was politicized and it has polarized the entire world," said Stone. "It is a shame because it is a waste of energy to see that the entire world five years later is still convulsed in the grip of 9/11."
Is that why you just did a film about 9/11 Ollie?
Make sure you look down upon the rest of the 'entire world' while you deposit all those millions to your bank account. Oh, and nice try dodging the hypocrite bullet by giving a small portion of the movies money to the victims families of the event. Asshole.
You should be more ashamed of "Any given Sunday." Garbage.
my 2 cents.

Is Oliver Stone a lurker here?

ollie should be more ashamed of Alexander.

And so endth the sermon by Bishop West. Amen.

After a while of being bombarded with questions about why he was doing a film about a sensitive / controversial event, he probably started making things up to not have to deal with it. I noticed that his story has changed a few times.

wasn't he the boozing brit who was in Gladiator?

Tagline:
Amreica, only the nut bags get their opinions heard.
Was pill pop'in Fatty McLimbaugh all over Stone like a caribbean whore?
I hope someone brought the viagra...

Anybody even see the World Trade Center film?
- garett_west0
This also coming from the guy who did the movies "Nixon" and "JFK".
What a moron. If the world is so caught up in 9/11 still what kind of an idiot is he to be making movies about things that happened so much longer ago. I think the guy has issues.
- mrdobolina0
were you this distraught over the movie blackhawk down?
- Mimio0
I actually think he's right about that aspect of things. There should be more films about 9/11 and US involvment in oil dictatorships.
- mrdobolina0
how about the film about the siege in russia by the chechen rebels? or is it just american tragedy that bothers you?

(Sep 29 06, 08:50)You missed the point entirely.
(That was actually a good movie btw)

Also, what was the name of this movie? Never heard there was one that existed.
- mrdobolina0
just trying to make you think a little.
not sure the name about the school siege movie.
oliver stone is a dick, butwhat he said in that article isnt entirely false.
- garett_west0
"just trying to make you think a little."
And what, do tell,do you think I was trying to do?
And yes Oliver Stone is a dick and a hypocrite who is laughing his way to the bank.
You can't talk about the publics fascination about a date and make a fucking tragedy movie about it, cause guess what, that means you have a certain fascination about it too jackleg.
- mrdobolina0
true.
But, Im tired of everyone acting as if this tragedy is worse than other things that happen in the world.

Oliver Stone, I think, is probably more interested in story telling and political statements than the amount of money he makes off of a movie.

(Sep 29 06, 09:17)he's obviously into the news-making stuff...

I didn't care for World Trade Center, but I did see it.
To my recollection even the president has said there is no connection between 9/11 and Iraq, so Oliver Stone just expressed his opinion on The iraq war, not on 9/11.
That being said, he maybe a bit of a nutcase, but he did fight for this country.
- spendogg0
But you gotta give him props for introducing us to Micky and Mallory.
- Mimio0
Yep, that's the one time he didn't circle the prey for 2 1/2 hours and come out empty handed.
