hey everyone, wonder if you could give me a crit on my new site. also, can somebody help me out with the css. everything is in its right place in ff on mac osx, but the font looks like crap in safari. does anyone know how i can fix this?
also, are there any bugs in the site? any help would be appreciated. thanks in advance!

clean. maybe too clean : )
the one thing that bugs me is the way the jump around from click to click. keep them in one location. i realize this is because of the length of copy per project, but just have the copy span longer on the projects so it makes them even.
also, your whole intro paragraph/name contact info on the left jumped all the way to the left (flush to the browser wall when i clicked the next link. refreshing the page seemed to fix it though.
also one other thing. the graphic design/ illustration/ consult under your logo looks as if they are links. you may want to reconsider the look of them or actually make them links...i thought it was broken at first few clicks.

(Sep 27 06, 17:09)well, if you look at it in firefox, the font is a little smaller and the line height is where i want it. in safari, it seems like the font is bigger with a smaller line height. but its only in safari. ive checked it on mac/pc firefox, pc IE, and mac safari.
maybe i just have an old version of safari.

I imagine this is how the browsers interpret Geogia. Why be so specific on the font choice?
Plus writing in the third person just seems wrong to me: It's your site about YOU, so be more friendly...

no prob man. glad i could help : )
i forgot to mention i'm on pc using ie6. and it seems like that jump in your main info on the left always happens only if the image info is not loaded yet (but the prev / next links show) and you click on the next link. happens every time for me.
most people are impatient and this may be a problem (well, if they are using a pc with ie : )
but is there anyway you can load the info first and then show prev / next links? ya know...to avoid that glitch.

I agree, i also don't have any issues when using Safari. But I also agree with M_13 about the [prev/next] jumping around. Possibly if you just move those buttons above the text, that may be a simple fix.
I think for the link/non-link problem with [graphic design | illustration | consultation], the vertical bars are what make that piece read as a set of links, maybe use commas instead of the vertical slashes.
Otherwise I like the site, it's simple and to the point.

By the way, some people may get confused with your play in your email address (ie; matt(at).....). I get it and I hope the audience you are aiming for get it as well. The others out there, well.......you know people. *shrug*

(Sep 27 06, 17:25)i'm assuming that is so bots don't track it...maybe??
but yeah, you may want to make that actually link...maybe as a graphic with a hotspot area? or a form style page?
- mattyd040
dancer, i was thinking that as well. somebody told me it was better, but im not digging it either.
go_st, i did do the matt(at)... because i was getting a ton of spam lately and i read that doing that is really the only effective way to stop it. which sucks.
working on the prev next dilemma now. but i agree with putting commas instead of straight lines. gonna fix that as well.
- mattyd040
okay, made most of the updates. got the prev next to bump down. switched the third person garbage and took out the horizontal lines up top. what do you think now?

personally .. i would leave the information for another page because if i am trying to get an impression of your work i'd rather that take up more room .. feels too small this way
and once i'm taken by your talent i'll click the information tab
or just have phone/email available at all times
- mattyd040
thanks for the input salisae. i was going to have the image be clickable and use lightbox to show the images at a larger scale, but i didnt want to be over the top with the gadgets.

"My previous work experience includes freelancing for such firms as ATTIK and AKQA in New York City where he did work for AOL, Coca-Cola and NBC."
Grammar Po leese. You refer to yourself as "he" after previously saying "me".
Like the site though :)

would bots track your email address if you used character entities?
