Not really. I'm not emotionally engaged in this, just weighing the evidence, which seems rather weighty...I'm a practical guy, don't have much place for idealism. Idealism gets you killed.

(Aug 10 06, 08:01)The irony in that statement is uncanny.

"Global warming is real, I've never said otherwise, I am saying however that global warming does not affect the weather and there has not been any scientific fact to prove so, only speculation."

What??? That makes no sense whatsoever."Why yes inspector, there is a 8" knife in the eye of the victim, but that's not the cause of death. He died when his heart stopped, you see. And the idea that he was killed and this isn't some manner of ill-conceived suicide is just mere speculation."
- TheBlueOne0
Right. And humans have a role in climate change. What's the point.
- garett_west0
garrett_west, to paraphrase a good hippy philosopher, when you get around to seeing the plank in your own eye, let me know...
TheBlueOne
(Aug 10 06, 07:59)Skewing again, but this time you somehow are trying to skew my facts (and they are facts) to discredit me. I don't get how that is even possible.
I gave you facts, and you give me a stoners quote he came up with just before his fifth splif.
Go back to the drawing board.

* mutters to self.. "global warming does not affect the weather. ...global warming does not affect the weather ..."
What the fuck does that mean? Wow. wow...I mean..wow..
"Weather (n.) - The state of the atmosphere at a given time and place, with respect to variables such as temperature, moisture, wind velocity, and barometric pressure."
..so you heat up this part here and THAT'S global warming you see.....and well, then it doesn't effect the weather you see because weather is...um...
OK, my head just exploded.
- garett_west0
Go back and actually read the news article you posted TheBlueOne.
It doesn't say 'global warming' anywhere in it. It states the typhoon has 135mph winds. The cause is a warm Pacific current. Not WARMER current. Then do a search for the pacific current and learn what that is.
Facts.

I wont answer your stupid fucking question, balance. It makes no sense. That is not going to happen and you know it will not.
Also, I thought you were going to try to be a nice guy around here and explain your views better without insulting people. Having a bad day today?
Seriously, do you guys like pollution? Even if global warming were all based on cyclic changes, doesnt conserving energy and polluting less make like a ton of fucking sense? What is your beef with that?
Seriously, you come here with all sorts of fire and vitriol about what exactly?
What are you so angry about?
- garett_west0
When I say go back and read it, I mean more than just the headline you thought would work for your arguement... which, ironically enough holds no water.
- Balance0
have some class? What, while you lie and bullshit all day?
Sorry, I like to see idiots get their asses handed to them around here.
mrdobolina
(Aug 10 06, 09:49)I feel bad for mrdobolina sometimes. It's like he has no information so he stands sideline and pretends he's a part of a conversation.
- TheBlueOne0
Hey GW, man. No worries. You can believe whatever you want, You know, free country and all that.
Here's the deal - as this plays out over the next few decades we'll know. If I'm wrong you send me your address and I'll show up at your door and personally planet the biggest kiss on your ass.
If I'm right..well, doesn't really matte rmuch as we'll be fucked. But I'll get in a last "Ha-ha" at your expense.
I got more important things to do today that argue ahbout whose spinning what...in the end reality always gives us the real payback and it's always a bitch
- Balance0
And again, quite hypocritical of you, seeing as how I JUST read over a response from you "uh... I fucking love it man, these guys got their asses handed to them today" like this is the jocks vs. the stoners back in 9th grade. Grow up. Have some class.
garett_west
(Aug 10 06, 09:48)Fucking hell that was funny!
+10!!
- lowimpakt0
garett. do you think anthropogenic CO2 emissions has anything to do with ocean acidification?
- Balance0
"Also, I thought you were going to try to be a nice guy around here and explain your views better without insulting people. Having a bad day today?"

mrdobolina
(Aug 10 06, 08:07)I don't understand how when he says "It's not global warming" you say "You must like pollution"
Are you really going to say that, let alone believe that?
Didn't you get mad at me when an assumption was made that because you hate America and the war, you must be a terrorist sympathiser? Same thing.
I believe the word we're looking for here is hypocrite.
- Balance0
I seriously don't get people's opposition to it.
GreedoLives
(Aug 10 06, 09:50)It's just that there is two types of people. The ones who will make appropriate changes to avoid any potential damage and will do this intelligently then there are the ones like mrdoboldodger who completely panic, are fear based, blame politicians and want to idealistically make a rapid change without any thought to its economics.
