Whilst being paraletic in Farringdon last night and talking design bollox I challenged my mate Gareth to beat the Fed Ex logo.
He said the IBM Paul Rand logo
Do you think this is true??
One or the other - tell me...

Fedex is more relevant to the brand it represents.
Apparently the horizontal lines were just aesthetic, nothing to do with computer screens etc.
sometimes I think people just like rand's work because he's rand.
I think people often confuse a strong brand like IBM with their logo. I'd say the blue/black&white colours is a stronger brand element that IBM's logo

Yeah, the lines in the IBM logo were just to make it appear less heavy, no?
There are far better logos than both though.
