Judge the data itself, forget the source.

(Apr 28 06, 06:28)It's got as much hard fact in it as your data.

hehe, determinedmoth... we have faith based in evidence. Faith based in facts. If there were not reason to trust the reliability of the Bible manuscripts, we would not place our faith in it's message.

Trust the taffic lights, nevermind the car hurtling towards you through the red lights.

If you truly care about this issue, research it for yourself. There are reasons that millions of people including scholars, scientists and former skeptics believe the Bible is true. :)

Note the agression and intolerance towards people who believe the Bible.
Telling.

(Apr 28 06, 06:32)Damn right. Look at the mess you've made. Look at the death, look at the wars, look at Mr Bush.
I wouldn't trust you at all.

Look at the hospitals, missions, outreach ministries, etc... etc... "we" have made. :)
And those who make war in the name of Christianity are not obeying scripture. Christianity is a personal relationship, not political movement.
What does Mr. Bush have to do with the reliability of the Christian message? You are employing the logical fallacy "ad hominem".

I once knew a war mongering and dishonest physician... so...
the medical profession must be altogether false.

Flange, your argument of look at the data doesn't really count for much when you haven't looked at it yoursef.
You are being told what that data is by people with faith.
I could be wrong of course. How well do you speak hebrew, and how many copies of the bible do you have or have studied, I mean for textual criticism?

Patching up your war dead and helping the starving that are starving because of the Church.
Come on. Give me something better.

don't be silly, determinedmoth. There are true Christians who have a relationship with Christ and then there are evil people who claim Christ, but their lives demonstrate otherwise. Don't conflate the two. And attempting to wave away all the good that has been done in the name of Christ, smacks of desparation and is quite pathetic. It's overwhelming how much good has been done.
And let's not forget the war and evil that has been done in the 20th century alone in the name atheistic materialism.

The synoptic problems thickens. Let's face it if you lay them side by side in columns they resembles what I imagine the reverse engineering of three high-school plagiarist work.

the synoptic gospels harmonize in a lovely way. Each supporting the other and offering unique perspectives on the accounts. It's the inclusion of such details by each writer that supports their authenticity, by the way. It's not difficult to learn how this works:
