(Oct 26 05, 07:58)haha, are you being sarcastic? because I say that about all my favourite films.

Lost Highway sucks, except for Beretta's shaved head and mascara.

it's also the first full frontal movie I have seen with a blurred out beaver.
interesting point that I think you'll all agree.

Jaline, have you seen Swimming Pool - there is a bit of a mind fuck in that film as well - you will be thinking about it for days.

Hey spendogg, actually I accidentely came across the spoiler for that film, so I knew what the twist was. Then I just read the summary/script and thought it was interesting.

(Oct 26 05, 07:59)no. i'm being literal. i read the salon article just after and that calmed my temper. the only thing that left me continually confused was the monster around the dump.
but here:
The two most confusing and mysterious characters in Mulholland Drive are the burnt bum, who we shall call "The Monster", and the Cowboy. The Cowboy and Monster symbolize the yin and yang of Diane's subconscious. The Cowboy is her conscience, her good side, while the Monster is the evil within her that controls her worst fears and secrets from her past. Looking at the scenes in which the Cowboy and Monster were present can prove this.

Yeah, that was confusing for me too so I read more about it. It's interesting how the film was supposed to be a series at first, so it was actually only 1h45min. The last 45 minutes were put on by David Lynch after the series idea was rejected. He got all the actors back, and re-did some of it, and added the entire 'reality/twist' part we see at the end.
More of it was supposed to be explained later...but only if there would be a series.

I liked that film. I think that it's a puzzle without a neat solution. It can have multiple interpretations that fits almost completely but always there's something missing.

The pronunciation of 'mulholland' is weird, at least for me. Kind of just rolls off the tongue, according to the characters in the film, anyway. Awesome street name.

I remember my one friend seeing this movie for the first time and was completely floored and had no idea whatsoever what anything had to do.
She brought it up in a conversation and my response of, "Oh come on, that movie wasn't that hard to grasp you dolt", was a little harsh.
Especially since at the time I had Mulholland Drive confused with Arlington Road.
Waaaaah waaaaaah.

Lost Highway was sweet with the whole time travel thing - there are a couple scenes in the movie where if one way of thinking was true than a certain scene was impossible - but if another way of thinking was invoked than a different scene was impossible and so forth. I pay good money to have my melon tweeked.

hahaha, I love when people say that this film is easy to understand. It's not, at least for the majority of people. And I won't even begin to note all the simple films people don't understand. So how would they comprehend something like this? They wouldn't, unless they see it 50 times.

isnt 'Mulholland Drive' like one of the most common street names in the states or something.
i.e : this could happen anywhere kinda thing?

There should be a movie called, "Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd."

Great score by Angelo Badalamenti. Some cool time changes/stretches during the unraveling near the end at Adam Kesher's party.
