This movie was pretty boss. Though, however, I find myself not enjoying movies when people say how hard it is to figure out or follow, because then all I do is overthink every aspect of the movie while it is going on. :X

I know what you mean. I actually end up thinking about the film for days and days, and it sometimes distracts me from other things. Because I want to know how it all links together. Maybe it's because we're into the arts and I'm an English student or something, haha. Anyway, this film is really awesome. I think it may be the most complicated film I have ever seen, after Memento, which I analyzed for a quite a long time as well.

I remember my one friend seeing this movie for the first time and was completely floored and had no idea whatsoever what anything had to do.
She brought it up in a conversation and my response of, "Oh come on, that movie wasn't that hard to grasp you dolt", was a little harsh.
Especially since at the time I had Mulholland Drive confused with Arlington Road.
Waaaaah waaaaaah.

Lost Highway was sweet with the whole time travel thing - there are a couple scenes in the movie where if one way of thinking was true than a certain scene was impossible - but if another way of thinking was invoked than a different scene was impossible and so forth. I pay good money to have my melon tweeked.

hahaha, I love when people say that this film is easy to understand. It's not, at least for the majority of people. And I won't even begin to note all the simple films people don't understand. So how would they comprehend something like this? They wouldn't, unless they see it 50 times.

isnt 'Mulholland Drive' like one of the most common street names in the states or something.
i.e : this could happen anywhere kinda thing?

There should be a movie called, "Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd."

Memento is the only movie ever that I have gotten up and left.
I couldn't stand it. It seemed like every scene was the same exact thing from a different camera angle, I felt like I was the only sane person on Earth for doing so, haha.

sorry for bumping this thread, but I had a question.
In the scene where Diane/Betty is on top of Camilla/Rita (they are both topless and about to make love, to jog your memory), did anyone else think that (after Rita says 'We should stop doing this') that the entire film was just them trying to fall in love with each other again. And this is what they do all the time, to keep their romance going. I know many couples do it, so I thought maybe that's what they were doing throughout the film. Like they would pretend like their didn't know each other, and then try and get with each again. It's a form of escapism, which Diane was really into.
Until I saw that Diane was actually just in a state of dreaming/hallucination. My theory didn't make sense after. I realized that everyone else in the film would've had to have been in on the entire adventure too, which seemed unlikely.
Anyway, I just wanted to know if I was crazy or not.

Great score by Angelo Badalamenti. Some cool time changes/stretches during the unraveling near the end at Adam Kesher's party.

watch it twice and you should be able to understand it, simple.

I remember when i first got the DVD and I wanted to make a point to my wife about some detail after the movie was over and BAM - he makes you watch it over from the beginning. No scene selection - Brilliant!
- Jaline0
Really? I loved that film! One of my favourites, because it's just so brilliant once you piece everything together. On the DVD you can actually watch it in chronological order, but I haven't done that yet even though I have it.

the wonderful thing about this movie is that is shows both sides of the same coin.
the one side, so shiny and (too) perfect and exactly like we SO BADLY want everthing to be.
the other, so dirty and neglected. exactly how things really are.
- flavorful0
Haha, yea, that scene selection thing is sort of trippy.
Makes one wonder that a Special Edition should be in the works...

that's a cool concept, jaline. perhaps you should pen a story along those lines.
if you do, share it with me.
- Jaline0
yeah, that's one of his trademarks.

Hrm ... perhaps I'll try and give it a second chance. It has been a few years.
