Without going into it our landlord never does things when he says he is going to.
He put a door in for us that should have taken two days - six weeks in its still NOT finished - he keeps coming round when he feels like it and doing work - not putting dust sheets down and covering our £1000 leather sofa in dust?!?! WTF
I have about 3 grands worth of electrical equipment but it doesnt seem to bother him
Can we get compensation? Is there anyone we can speak to? The guy is a right twat!
Thanks
Karlo

im sure you have a full tenancy agreement, so you can f*ck him up if you can be bothered with the hassle, went thru somthin similar with an old landlord ie him constantly breakin the rules stated in the agreement , then at the end deciding not to give the bond back....long, long story, but in the end i went to citizens adviec and they helped a great deal! fully sorted out the problem...landlords are all bastards the lot of them....they dont realise its a two way deal...citizens advice is your best bet tho for defintie...im sure you probably knwo this tho

Yeah Citizens Advice Bureau but also try telling him you are with-holding rent until everything is sorted

I know its by the by but my girlfriend and I dont want to be cnuts about it as we know it will catch up with us when we move out.
Two guitars, I pod, Flatscreen TV, amp, PS2, CDs, DVD/amp, guitar amp all covered in dust and debris TWICE
Its a fookin nightmare

Sell all that stuff and you could buy !

thing is tho, landlords rely on their tenants to be passive, which i think most are..(its the uk way, dont like to complain)..withhold rent, your within your rights...thatll get him moving...landlords should always give 48hours notice before entering a property too...and if he tries stitching you up when it comes to moving out...citizens advice again.
make sure you take photos of every room etc before you leave, just in case he tries taking money from your deposit for non existent damage etc
landlords...all bastards....never had a fair one...even the letting agencies ive used have tried it....annoying...
you pay your landlord to provide a service, not to just allow you t o live in the home he owns...if youre not getting the service that you both agreed upon (stated in your tenancy) then i would definitely complain
man if all my stuff got covered in dust like that i wouldnt take it so lightly....hes walking all over you my son!

if it's an essential/emergency alteration or whatever, you should be able to have it done at your own cost (ie. hire someone) then forward them the bill.

oh, and what snc said about taking photos is a good idea as well.

but go through your contract, it sould all be in there.
