moural - the a and b buttons are for when you TURN the controller so it's HORIZONTAL, like an NES controller. If you bothered to read any of the articles you'd figure that out.

wow, just when their regular console was turning into an extension of myself.
looks interesting.

VERY exciting!

"The controller itself, which is wireless, has a surprisingly different form factor. It looks very much like a television remote control; it is vertically oriented and held in one hand. Your thumb can rest on a directional pad or large A button, and your index finger curls around to grip the B trigger on the underside."
Uh huh.

Yes, monk. And the lowercased ones cannot be accessed. If you turn the controller sideways (which is only mentioned by the reviewer as a note - not from Nintendo's mouth) it's still not usable because the giant plug/connector for the analog control is in the way - in which case you'd need a third hand to control that.
The N64 controller was also quite innovative when it came out, but just like this, it wasn't very friendly. To jump from the analog control to the directional pad, you had to move your entire hand off of the middle section and to the left.
The PS2 controller is perfect, because you never have to move anything but your fingers - and they need move only slightly.

the original xbox controller was the worst ever

Obviously if you have the controller turned NES-stype the joystick attachment isn't plugged in.

This thing is genius from a design perspective.
You it senses motion in 3d space + tilt, can be turned around to use like a nes controller which can be turned to steer a car for example, could theoratically also act as an universal tv remote control which on which you just have to press the on button to play a quick round of super mario bros. 3 which you've just downloaded, which makes console very unintrusive.
this could be a nes for a new generation of gamers.

that's why it's called revolution
the 64 had the best controller ever

nintendo can't compete on a hardware level with next-gen consoles so they've been reduced to cheap gimmicks
rasputin
(Sep 15 05, 22:57)uh huh. cant compete?
ofcourse they could, tho they've chosen to actually use their brains and think outside of the box. rather then just release something with beefed up power.
controlling a game by the position of my hand, in 3d space, seems pretty intriguing to me.

(Sep 16 05, 00:54)did you really just say "think outside the box"?

this console might be the first i buy since the SNES because ou can download PLAY all the classic games of the SNES and NES on the Revolution directly from Nintendo. Access to all its library of games. how sweet is that!?

did you really just say "think outside the box"?
rasputin
(Sep 16 05, 21:15)sorry. that was extremely cliche and uncool of me. woops.

to all you nay-sayers:
