looks like a spa bath bubble controller to me...

It'll be interesting to see what kind of controllerversions 3rd party manufacturers will produce.
Great initiative from Nintendo. And I don't even play videogames.

" a surprisingly different form factor."
whatever... i wonder if nintendo© will re-release donkey kong to go with the cleco-vision style controller.

that's the most gaytastic thing i've ever seen.
nintendo can't compete on a hardware level with next-gen consoles so they've been reduced to cheap gimmicks

Absolutely amazing, a totally new idea of interaction, well done nintendo, redifining gaming once again, proves it doesn't just have to be about graphics and audio, it's the whole feel and experience.
Use your imagination. Wow.

(Sep 15 05, 22:57)uh huh. cant compete?
ofcourse they could, tho they've chosen to actually use their brains and think outside of the box. rather then just release something with beefed up power.
controlling a game by the position of my hand, in 3d space, seems pretty intriguing to me.

They don't really need to compete, they have such a loyal fan base and their games are on another level of playability and immersive gameplay. Truly original.

rekon its gonna be huge no.1 in japan- tho not so well recieved in america.

superb, glad a company is willing to take some risks and bring inovation into a marker saturated by the same old shit.

This style of controller has been a failure in the past...umm?
Current controllers to hard to use for new-comers? I think the popularity of football games with retarded jocks disproves that.

OH FUCK THIS.. i just started a thread baout this and another got bumped lol..

I love Nintendo, but I'm not sure what to think about this. I knew, I really did, that it was probably going to be a one-handed controller, but this looks like it'll be awkward and tiring to use. Maybe if the main part looked more like a grippy thing....

it looks like an mp3 player...
i think now is the time to make a functional "power glove"...that thing was ahead of its time, hence poorly implemented.
imagine using two of them in game play...pretending youre holding the objects, fighting, steering etc. pressing buttons on the other arm.... noone's thought of this?

Exactly! Anyone who can't get passed the look of the different controller and not see the possibilities of truely interactive game play are missing the revolutionary point.

cool idea , but things like this never work they way they're suppose 2. Also how would your living room setup affect the interaction etc etc.

Revolution Hands On.

Did i see it good?
Can you maybe use it as a sword in game?
- moural0
That controller would be cool if you were an octopus. How the hell is a human supposed to use those A and B buttons AND the directional pad?
That analog stick would be hard to control too. You need two hands on a controller to keep it from flopping around.
