I've got no place else to go, and or my sex lessons were proving unpopular, I found it hard to fill my class to begin with and it became an impossibility as the years passed by.

(Aug 23 05, 05:54)If I'm not honest, no one else will be! I worked in a shitty corporate job out of university and stumbled across design through my mate.
I don't have the "designer" background like many, the whole "I loved collecting patterns when I was 7" kind of thing.

completely by accident.
perhaps not a fortunate one.
oh, and i'm not even a designer.

gawd you lot! design is fun! that's why i do it.
wanted to "be a graphic designer" since i was 8 (cos my uncle was one and he got to draw all day) but didn't actually know what it really was till i was about 12.

good point.
....and i love it.

when i was in highg school, i though of making urinal pucks that were targets, and the bar/resturants name was on them. I figured i could corner the urinal puck market. There would be hockey goalies and basball catchers that you could aim your urine at. What fun. Anyways, i told my art teacher and he told me to make packaging for my product. "Urinal Pucks, Deluxe" was the name and my first typeface consisting of drains was born... since then ive been working with type/design. the urinal pucks buisness never got off the ground...

after many long years in the jungle, hunting Pygmies for the circus, I decided I wanted to make a difference, but they wouldn't let me, so I chose this instead...

i like working creatively but i was not willing to enter the cut-throat world of fine art.
with design i can be somewhat creative but have a steady job too.
and eventually, the prospect of freelancing / starting my own studio, setting my own hours... that sounds good to me.

Always got in trouble in school for drawing instead of taking notes.
Started as a bio major in college, was better at drawing the dissections than memorizing info.

Drawing logos as early as kindergarden while all the other kids were drawing box houses with curling smoke coming out of the chimmney.
When I saw my first print of set type come out of a post script printer, then really fell in LOVE.
I can get paid for this? Yes!
