i think i started working as a farm hand when i was 13 or 14. living out in the country my dad let me drive the junkerd car the 5 minutes to the farm.
by the time i was 16 and got my license i was parallel parking doing about 20 mph. my instructor about shit himself out of fear.
i also detassled for 2 summers before i could drive for phizer in my home town. (sp?). that's where you go row for row with about 50 other kids and pull the fuzzy tassle out of the top of the corn. fuckin bullshit but it was $.

i used to deliver auto parts too.. we had these beater trucks that we used to take to a parking lot behind a UPS station. there was a concrete slope there, and we used to jump the trucks off it like 10 feet in the air. The trucks would land, bottom out and spray showers of sparks all over.
that job was fun.
yes, i was fired.

First job in 1994 at a grocery store in my hometown during high school.
I was fired for meowing like a cat at customers through the vinyl doors in the dairy section.

Another grocery store
--
A mortgage company where we worked in a basement file room and frequently turned the place into a modern day Battle of Midway with rubberband wars, and targets positioned high and low.
--
Ah, college arrives...
--
Freshman year worked at a telemarketing job, then as an Independant Contractor at an electric company phone center where I did Excel work, inventory, and ran around on the 3rd floor roof and used my set of building master keys to the fullest, accessing ventilation tunnels, hidden ladders, and other cool areas underground and in the walls.
--
More telemarketing
--
Waited tables for two years at a Mexican food place near the Ballpark In Arlington, TX. Learned an insane amount of vulgar spanish and acquired the nickname "Gato Cybernetico" from my Mexican pals.
--
Insurance Audit software company, 2000 - Worked part time and really started to learn Flash and start building extensive HTML sites. Did a small bit of print work.
--
Graduated college in 2001, no job, moved to Chicago, worked part time at Banana Republic, then started temping at a law firm, went to another firm, temped in Marketing, got job jere as a receptionist for 1 1/2 years, got promoted into Marketing, been in this dept for 1 1/2 years and now do lots and lots of design, web work, branding work, newsletter editing, publishing, ASP security work for extranets, etc.
What I do know is quite a bit of fun. Many hats each day.

hahaha@rand
for all the life guards you ever saved anyone?
me? two kids. one of which was in my swim class. haha. little fuckrd ran straight into the deep end behind my back. his dad was a cop so for me saving his kid i once got a 'get out of jail free' card when he pulled me over and i had about 5 open beers in the car. took my undrunk beer and sent me home. the next day he thanked me for the free beer.
