cool, looking forward to seeing it. How do you know him?
- nooner0
i think 5 is really strong. i would like to the see the inner white circle larger though. balancing the negative space outside in.
- thompson0
we are also working on his site.
- kld0
Are you doing a site for him? Or does he have one up already?
- kld0
we worked with him on a job here, nice guy.
- thompson0
KLD, I agree with your last post too.
I think he will benefit more from a nice logotype rather than some brand logo.
- thompson0
KLD, why yes it is.....
know him?
- kld0
grutt, ain't that the truth.
logos for photographers are kinda like logos for indy designers, maybe not so necessary. A beatiful type treatment and let the photographs speak for themselves, IMO.

it wouldn't be a NT crit without this...
it needs more cow bell.

Wow, I like that Picasa logo.
- kld0
It not for Jeffery Cross, is it?
- thompson0
thanks to all.
yeah, I figured I would get the "it looks just like..." posts. It is a kind of obvious graphic for photo. I will keep at it.
thanks again for the comments

What vb and K77 said.
I would start afresh to be honest. this concept is very standard and has no real angle on it. Why should people use this guy over anyone else?
Also I would work on the logotype together with your mark. How do they relate, what compliments what.
And perhaps work in B+W to start with, colour detracts from the concept.
Sorry but this is just my opinion

The top half of nuber 5 kind of looks like a sun setting, which is a pretty synonmous with the west coast.
Just trying to nudge you in other directions if you wanted to stay with the aperature

i say go talk with your client a bit more and figure out how he is different or better or his unique selling point or something. and try again. it's not distinct enough.
