so... I'm at this show last weekend - Blackstar... at Coachella. Now, bear in mind, Coachella had lots of hip hop there this year - which was cool and nice to kick it to and listen.
But I need... NEED something explained to me. I think this is a scientific thing too... it MUST BE!
Is it me... or do white women's sex drives somehow kick on when they hear hip hop? I SWEAR TO GOD... last weekend - everytime I'd stop to listen to some hip hop... some dude would be there being grinded on and bumped on by his white girl. None of the black/hispanic/whatever girls were dry-humping during the hip hop sessions.... but during EVERY hip hop show - every little abercrombie and fitch wearin' ditz would immediatly click into some trance and start working their men like stripper poles.
anyone else see this as an epidemic? i think it's something chemical they put in the hip hop to make white women insane. Call your Congressmen!

no dude, you're confused.
it's all about what people as a group think is 'cool'. It doesn't really exist.
it's just what's in vogue at the time, the same thing could be said about disco and headbanger shit
:)

It happens at Notting Hill Carnival when the white laydeez smoke their one joint of the year and suddenly they're win'ing their body down to the Ragga soundsystems.
Before going home to pich the kids up off the nanny...

you used hip hop and abercrombie in the same sentance. that says it all

funny insight. if it is an insight.
i was at a "hip hop party" tonight (don't laugh, cus it was actually ok), but somehow they just play the same songs... whats up with that?

i think if you're not deep within that particular music/language/culture, then you don't connect. I bet hiphop fans don't get the music you're into either.
On another note, I think hip hop contains varients on the themes of sex, violence, gangsters, and poverty set at a music timing good enough to play at parties, to dance to and also to have sex with. It's a social kind of music in some respects. I tuned out of hip hop years ago, but this urban music genre, although quite young, will be here for years entertaining and also turning on many females across the species.

i read a broader study that found that women are aroused by bass in music
this would explain the hip hop thing...
so play anything with a heavy beat, and play it loud

pony is smoking shit again.

I'm not smoking a damn thing... read what scarabin wrote.
good vibrations.

Hip Hop is dead. It's been over for years. You all just partying on the corpse.

I wish hip hop were dead. It's everywhere. Any musical genre that will get the "pretty people" on MTV with a minimum of talent and work is going to last.
Don't be surprised to see Reality Karaoke on MTV soon.
- rasko40
you do not know hiphop.

I definitely feel different when hearing the bass of a song, and I usually notice it first. Maybe it's because I study music, but I also tend to isolate the sounds and then attempt to distinguish them. Yeah, I think I'm talking about something else now. But I'd have to agree with scarabin about the bass thingy.

Hip-hop is definitely at its peak now, at least with my generation and people younger.
Personally, it's definitely better than rap.
