email any info you have.
those links are great.we are porbably making a month long visit before we decide for sure.
I know most of the good points about being there.
ie. lifestyle/scenery/weather/good people ( I've met a few kiwis and they've all been really open, down to earth, genuinely nice folk).what are the bad points of living in NZ?

Ya can't smoke in the Pub no more. I call that a bad point.

NZ rocks all round so you cant really go wrong..

Buddy, look up Piha beach - about 40 min drive from Auckland. Great Surf beach which rocks in Summer, i have plenty of friends who commute from there every day, but get the lovely relaxed lifestyle.

i loved NZ, but i was disappointed in alot of ways. The nature and the people there are wonderful, but it was really touristy, even the REALLY remote spots. Also everything there is really fuckin expensive, even by my NYC standards. I guess if you're a brit, it'll seem cheap to you, but compared to a dollar, it's pretty crazy. All in all, it's an amazing place, but for me it's just a place to visit.

I quit the evil tabs so thats a plus!
I here Blenheim is a good spot outside Wellington?
I want to be close to a city but still a short drive from the great outdoors.
From what I can gather; New Zealand has that in abundance.

I agree, shame yer chokers though

That so-called 'inferiority complex' makes us far better rugby players than aussies.

out of all the places ive been (and we managed to drive through pretty much the whole damn country), I think i liked Chirstchurch and Nelson the best. Auckland's nice too, I think i liked it more than Wellington.

um. thank you :P

I didn't realize NZ was so beautiful until I saw LOTRs.
- blackspade0
i wonder how remote those spots really were !?
honestly theres plenty of places to avoid that, as a typical tourist of course your going to be exposed to that crap, just gotta know where to go
what sort of things did u find expensive ?
- RIZ0
fuck me, all the kiwis have come out of the woodwork for this thread! Chioce!

Food mostly, was expensive. But everything in general was pricey, too. You guys have an included 13% tax, but it was mostly the dollar's exchange rate that made it seem expensive. When we got to Auckland (which i'll have to say is alot more expensive than the rest of the country), there were things like sandwiches for like 15 NZ$, which translated to US$ is still like over $10. Maybe im just spoiled by NYC food, but it seemed expensive.
And we tried to stay off the beaten path, and even in the smallest towns, there's tourist info places and, well, tourists. Which i dont mind, just seemed like NZ really milks its nature for every little cent.
Don't get me wrong though, it's an amazing place all in all,
