Have you taken out a car loan before? What's your experience? How many years should I get it for? What were the monthly payments like?
I'm looking to take out a loan in the $10k range for a used SUV. I don't like the idea of going in debt, but I drive a piece of shit.
Any guidance is appreciated.

Hello,
I took out a car loan to buy a piece of shit... ha ha imagine that.
Take it over as few years a spossible if you value your soul. Also make sure you can pay it off early should you ever come into some money.

get a smaller, less polluting car.
in name of the entire humankind, we thank you.

I got one a few weeks ago. I was so excitied about the car, i didnt take any notice of what the vampire giving me the loan was on about. i have no idea how long i took it for! I am so bad with money, its actually hilarious!

think about how long you want to keep the car. 3 yrs max before i get bored and make sure you can afford the monthly payment. check out what you should pay with either Parker's guide or the trade book [ i think it is called glass's guide]. parker's is available on autotrader

sorry rabattski, but the ladies do not go for a '92 accord with a wrecked front end.

Never ever borrow money to buy a car. It's disastrous for your economy in every aspect.
- rabattski0
so a smaller car translated in your language means a '92 accord with a wrecked front end? interesting. or are all smaller cars in the states '92 accords with a wrecked front end and everything else is SUV? just wondering.
- rabattski0
anyways what sport do you do where you need a suv?

First off, I drive the wrecked honda right now. It needs to be replaced, so I'm considering other factors when I purchase a new vehicle.
Dutchboy, in america, a vehicle is a matter of necessity. You cannot reach places by bicycle and still maintain a productive life. Cities are designed for cars, not bikes or walking. If you can, you're lucky.
- rabattski0
janne, different rules in the states dude, in holland you can pick up your girl with a bicycle, try to do that in the states. talk to the hand coz the head ain't listening kind of shit. must say we lack car culture though. anyways, driving an suv is ridiculous and irresponsible and even more scary if people take out a loan to drive one.

"You cannot reach places by bicycle and still maintain a productive life."
