strange you talk that way, diggity, as the international electronic 'democratic' experiment were to be appreciated as a gift of democracy as delivered by...whom?
- janne0
it's all to blame on the 2 party system..
makes it all so black and white imo..
i couldn't stand it to be labeled by your neighbour or friends as being black or white (read: republican or democrat)..
i have always valued political diversity.
- johndiggity0
rephrase your question and don't try to sound smarter than you are.
- janne0
i mean: if i was an American it would drive me nuts to be put on "one side"..
na meen?
- andy_0
isnt it interesting how EVERYONE in the media is echoing the Bush Administration by calling these "HISTORIC Elections"?
- yurimon0
Its all Facade. Demacracy is Dead.
- johndiggity0
wasn't directed at you janne, sorry for the confusion.
- janne0
these elections were important for it marked a point in which dem's and rep's really started to oppose each other like never before.
however i found the outcome rather predictable(unfortunatly) so the elections were not historical for that matter.
- johndiggity0
so, the first democratic in iraq in over 60 years do not set a historic precedent? you feel that label is wrongly applied? how so?
- dr_strangedub0
diggity, it's not that hard. you somehow equated, in the language ov yr post, the heavily secured day of iraqi 'elections' with the many freedoms people from all over the western and eastern civilized world enjoy (ie. internet posting, SUV eroticizing). you are simply taking 'nation building' out of context. So, are we simply acting as security guards? Is that spreading freedom or security? What operation in nature spreads freedom?
- janne0
shit sorry!!
haha i am too tired.
i thought we were talking about the us elections!!!!
hahahaha i am a dummy!
- dr_strangedub0
andy_, dead on, what's with the "historic"...you know, the Bin Laden memo, as Dr. Rice, observes, was an "historical document"....historic ignorance of yr basic job functions, yes. Also, "mandate", "freedom", etc. . .these are the high days of mind games...
- mrdobolina0
me and janne have a mandate.
- johndiggity0
i don't reacall posting about the security, cars, or sexual habits of the iraqi people, but i'll bite.
i believe a large paart of the security was provided by the iraqis themselves. even in the usa at the iraqi polling centers, they had tight security, bomb sniffing dogs, etc... and given the present circumstances of recent threats made by zarqawi, i think they were justified, and not meant to deter voting, rather foster the notion of having the freedom to vote one's concious without fear of reprisal.
nor do i believe that we are actively particpating in nation building, rather we are helping the iraqi's do the nation building through their votes. we have gone from actively disposing of the old government and have assumed a more passive role, ensuring stability and helping the iraqi's take a more active role.
i'm sorry, but the rest of your question is unitelligible. in all forms of communication, clarity is key.
- dr_strangedub0
"without fear of repriasal..."
you have the clarity of a glaucoma afflicted cyclops. do you think if the case for 'nation creating', which this is, was presented as a larger package that issued the immediate removal of saddam hussein, instead of the removal of wmd, abu gharib would have the same impact? if you send troops in on a lie, weak evidence, you secure the oil ministry, bomb innocent civilians, then transform that into a freedom-spreading machine. Are those two motives equated in yr mind, war on terror/WMD = nation creating? infinite injustice
- johndiggity0
i can't understand you, can you make a animated gif to explain?
- quamb0
im confused, didnt the US invade iraq because of wmd's? then, there are none, so the public agenda shifts. how could so many u.s folk forget that and not be pissed off? it baffles me.
strangedub speaks the truth.
- BonSeff0
well there's a dichotomy there when saddam claimed 100% percent of the pop elected him in his election back in 02
- mrdobolina0
hahah
- mrdobolina0
good americans dont bring that up, quamb
