2cent is right about Calgary. Might as well just move to the States... same thing only less hockey.
Toronto is a great city, completely diverse and multicultural. Sure it smells like ass, but i'm sure you'd just get used to it. Montreal is a great city too, too bad most of the people living there aren't!

That's awesome!
Come to Ottawa.

YOU KNOW YOU'RE AN ALBERTAN WHEN:
1. You hate those damned oil-pilfering people from Ontario!!
2. Your idea of a traffic jam is ten cars waiting to pass a tractor on the highway.
3. "Vacation" means going to Calgary.
4. Your friend tells you a joke about Toronto and you laugh.
5. You measure distance in hours.
6. You know several people who have hit deer more than once.
7. Your classes were cancelled because of cold.
8. You often switch from "heat" to "A/C" in the same day.
9. You use a down comforter in the summer.
10.. Your grandparents drive at 100/km per hour through 13 feet of snow and raging blizzard - without flinching.
11. You plan your financial future around bingo.
12. You see people wear hunting clothes at social events.
13. You install security lights on your house and garage and leave both unlocked.
14. You think of the major four food groups as steak, beer, fish and people from Saskatchewan.
15. You carry jumper cables in your car and your girlfriend knows how to use them.
16. There are always 4 empty cars running in the parking lot at the beer store at any given time.
17. You only own 3 spices: salt, pepper, and ketchup.
18. You design your kid's Halloween costume to fit over a snowsuit.
19. Driving is better in the winter because the potholes are filled with snow.
20. You think everyone from a bigger city has an accent.
21. Ralph Klein is a family friend.
22. You know what kind of snow throws best.
23. You know all 4 seasons: Almost Winter, Winter, Still Winter, and Construction.
24. It takes 3 hours to go to the mall for one item even when you're in a rush because you have to stop and talk to everyone in town.

omfg the IGNORANCE!!! people from toronto need to get their damn heads out of their asses. jesus.
- SteveCo0
What's with all the hate and ignorance? It gets really old after a while.
- 2cent0
ok, so calgary isn't the worse place in canada... maybe manitoba takes that title but calgary is hard on their heels.
why anyone other than cowboy's or oil industry people live there is beyond me.
why the big hard on for calgary leah?... everyone i know from there left as soon as they could.
- 2cent0
sorry... i shouldn't just single out calgary... its more like alberta as a whole.
damn good grade A beef tho.
- -leah-0
that is just ignorance, have you spent time in calgary? even alberta? yah there is rednecks, but there is much more than that. i grew up on vancouver island, lived in vancouver for a few years and yet, i still love calgary. anyways there is no point arguing this with people who don't know what they are talking about, it is ridiculous.
- -leah-0
p.s. most people i know here personally moved here from ontario.
- 2cent0
yes i have spent time in Calgary, enough to realize the total lack of culture that city has aside from rednecks and native americans... so please don't assume that i am judging it blindly or with ignorance.
ps. alot of people move from Ontario... i'm one of them, but for me personally i would rather live in Toronto any day over Calgary.
- SteveCo0
This is one of the reasons I wouldn't want to live in Toronto. The arrogance is astounding. If you don't live there, you are the lowest of the low. No appreciation for anything but their own.
Obviously this is a generalization, and there are some great people there. It just seems that this attitude prevails. If you did actually come to Calgary and spend some time, you would realize it's a beautiful city with a vibrant culture. AND we accept one another for who they are, not just snubbing our noses at them.
- -leah-0
well 2cent and other haters, I can see where you are coming from, you are entitled to your own opinion.
However, are you that well travelled that you can seriously say Calgary is a bad place to live? You are comparing Calgary to Toronto, Montreal and other canadian cities, but in reality Calgary is cultured in comparison to most cities in the world. so please spare me your ignorance, truely, it is tiring.
- -leah-0
what steveco said :)
- canuck0
I take back my Alberta hate, I have actually heard good things about the province. I am getting out of stinky Toronto soon myself, probably move to BC though, just so I can have an extended mountain bike season.
My brother is actual moving to Calgary in the next year so I am sure I will back making a few trips there in the near future.
- 2cent0
"in reality Calgary is cultured in comparison to most cities in the world.
-leah-(Jan 29 05, 10:53)"
please spare me... you obviously have no clue what culture is... and yes, I am that well travelled... please don't make your assumptions about me as to what i have or haven't done... I never made any assumptions about you... you don't me, remember that ok?
someone really likes fuckin cowtown... jeebus.
- -leah-0
ok well anyways who cares in the end, we aren't going to change eachothers opinions so why bother.
sorry dita and 5timuli for turning this thread into an argument!
