Bluejam: there are more things to catch attention. mainly 2 colors. Analog/Digital, Iraq/US, War/Fun, Killed/Dead...

loudubs... curiously i don't have an iPod, i don't listen to stolen music, nor watch TV (except movies), i read books, i wish i could have an electric car, i live in the mountains. just because i don't like the opposite so much. but i'm not critisizing anybody here also.

how can people not get this? It works on so many levels. What's with the over analysing? "but what does it mean? what does it mean?"
By the way, if those headphones weren't there it wouldn't exactly be a play with the iPod marketing now wud it?
- Kuz0
rasko, it's I shop, therefore i am ;)

the artist took an easy way out at making a statement.

--------------------------Maybe it's the statement u dont like, not how it was made.

you wouldn't know it was an iPod ripoff without the headphones? The colors and vector sillhouette and type does it for me.
- winter0
well, that's not a common anti- poster for sure. Not very clear. and i'm not even sure that it was so deeply elaborated as our cross observations here. dunno.
- Kuz0
No because the way the iPod thread works is by showing people having fun, singing, dancing, skating, etc... and it higlights the headphones (with the striking white slhoutte against the black) so u can see that the headphones are CENTRAL to these acts of pleasure/fun joy. To take away the headphone wud be taking away what was essential to the iPod poster - if that makes sense.

woops. iPod thread - i mean iPod poster

if people are having trouble understanding this, maybe u shud think about how the original iPod poster worked and how it was so effective. I think it's kinda clumsy having iRaq at the top there, and people are taking this too personally "wtf? cos i own an iPod i'm supporting the war in iraq??". Well that's not why this poster is so good. It's the silhouttes of priosner abuse in abu grade (however that's spelt). It's already fading from memory, but when that scandal hit, the media saturation was so complete that u only needed the silhoutte of the chick pointing at the prisoners cock to know exactly what it was. Are people familiar with Andy Warhol and how he played with the context of popular culture?
It's like people are cool with having corporate marketing rip-off Mondrian (and other artists) to sell shampoo bottles; but when it's the other direction, making a political statement by changing the context of corporate marketing - people have a problem with it. Sad.

prisoner abuse will not fade from memory, only from the myopic, collective, non-holistic memory that most people seem to have.
- Mimio0
They problem isn't seeing/ignoring images of abuse, it's that people enjoy creating these images.

lets stop before we get to 100. seems a silly waste of time discussing such an inate topic that we all agree is nothing new, and being a collective of humans, we will continue to disagere on everything. so shh, www.shh.com,
