hehe well yeah, truth is in my opinion, genre's like graffiti, subvertising, post-graffiti , public art come from different angles, some purely cosmetic, some esoteric some socio-comment, they all have in common a certain graffiti ethic which some people seem to appreciate and understand. A lot of people however dont get it, cant understand why people want to do something that doesn't seem to earn them anything, be it credit or cash.
I have tried to explain to people in the past about why I was into graffiti and a) its very difficult to explain and b) it never seems to sink in to them so I just dont bother anymore.. each to his own. so diplomatic yeah ;)

please do elaborate about subvertising / street art having a graffiti ethic. would like to know what you mean with that.

heh. save do you really not get it? i guess all that sleeping during the political threads was just because you didn't understand... zzz there there warm up your horlicks, perhaps you have political dyslexia, kind of like colourblindness only it scrambles any messages with non-consumer values

save you'd probably enjoy the world more if you weren't constantly at war with what is around you, it seems almost contrived that you find everything so 'shite'. Perhaps if you started trying to appreciate things you might find it has a positive effect on your own work/thought process.
Personally I think you rant for effect and rather choose not to engage subject matter, its much easier not to think.

rabattski: I think that they have in common the fact that the 'artist' has an interest in public space, in 'fame' without fame, its almost as much and in fact often more about where and how big you get up rather than the actual piece itself, aswell as the actual adrenaline rush of doing it.
