working for less in regards of
paying 25 per hour or 10 per hours.
if you were starting out with basic training and education you could live a comfortable life in india earning around $500 US a month...and this arguement is typical american...blame the others for your own system.
- Mimio0
Zedvox, the inequality is to blame. If the US had equal trade markets we'd bury them in products. They're exploiting our system.
- sputnik0
the company i work for is outsourcing photoshop pathing work to india.
it really, really sucks.
- zedvox0
hah! Isn't that the nature of the business
and as i said the US multinationals are going there BY choice. no one is making them go.
- zedvox0
I am sorry sputnik.
but think about it who really is to be blamed here?i also believe this makes us work harder competition always does.
- Mimio0
I don't disagree, it's inherent in the US economic system. I'm just saying level the playing field.

"the company i work for is outsourcing photoshop pathing work to india."
Thats is ridiculous
- Mimio0
He's joking I'm sure.
- zedvox0
Where is the level playing field when America is on the benefitting side. Look at Latin America, Do they not deserve level playing field?
Also American products and lifestyle already floods india....mcdonalds pizza hut coke pepsi....India is becoming the new sillicon valley, there isnt much difference it was built by indians and chinese in the first place. It's only going back to it source.
What will really tickle my pickle is when China decides to jump in.
- zedvox0
i don't thin sputnik is joking about that.
i am also concerned the way business is run these days. especially creative fields like oursI think we need to slow down a lil as a soceity. take a step back think about where we are really headed.
isn't design all about that?
- sputnik0
who's joking...moi?
absolutely not. you should see the files, too...they're good.
i know competition is a good thing blah blah blah, however the low rates they charge are impossible to compete against. unless of course you can live off $2/hr. i sure can't.
- zedvox0
as i said sputnik blame captialism.
i would never work for a company which treated its designers as part of the machine.
its really sad....
fucking business types.
i actually had one guys from the biz school in my Uni pitch this idea to me
Open a Design Fim here int he states and outsource all the techinial work to India based on the idea of the Creative driector here.
I was like why would do that....
design is all about experience and responding to your surroundings...do no bastardize it.i do not condone the outsourcing of everythign to india for cheap labor. i like the fact that hi-tech industry in india is getting better and people are becoming more efficient.
Blame the US Multinationals not the people.
- sputnik0
i hear you zedvox. it is one of the things that has made me realise my time here won't be as extended as i would have liked. i unfortunately have some financial responsibilities i can't bail until i find something better and closer to home.
c'est la vie.
- zedvox0
hehe it could be worse sputnik.
i am an indian
often times mistaken for an arab terorist.
looking for a design job in the US
starting with New York.blah!
- sputnik0
lol...that's funny, but also not.
i work with a brilliant and very sweet indian woman.
i'm french, so needless to say there's not much love for frenchies in the US when the body politik starts to jiggle.
- zedvox0
you and i should form our own design firm sputnik!!!
Freedom Curry Design Firm!!
- lovaboy0
Gimme a break. If this http://www.cm2bkk.com/home.asp
(taken from the portfolio of the firm mentioned at the start of this thread) is what you get when you outsource, it may not be the huge problem it's made out to be (in the design world, anyway). Technical stuff, yes, But even then people tell me there are quality issues.
- sputnik0
BRILLIANT!
- sputnik0
well its a fact that we were going to hire 10 photoshop monkeys here, in denver, but instead we chose to hire 10 elsewhere.
that's 10 jobs which no longer exist in the US, and as far as just straight photoshop pathing skills, i can tell you the quality is EXCELLENT.
- zedvox0
it didnt work what was it ??
freedomcurry.com? lol
