i got privy to the script of the whole thing about 4 months ago... after i had already seen part 1..
i must say.. this second one will be very emotional/action oriented..
the ending.. / toward the ending.. gets a lot more emotional than i thought it would.. any feelings you had for uma when she woke out of her coma.. are going to be doubled over by this one.. with the meeting of her and Bill at the end..
the final show-down between the bride and bill seems VERY anti-climatic.. as it sounds short.. but the visual style will pull it through.. i'm sure of that..
anyway.. i'm going to see it tonight.. any lucky monkies out there who get to see it on their lunch break need to report back here and let us know what you think without spilling beans ;)

tarintino was trying way too hard to make another tarantino movie.

(mar 24 04, 10:26)this is the best statement, i totally agree. he is totally trying to jam to many different styles into one film, its kind of annoying.
i like it though, the scene with uma vs lucy in the snow was great!

ok, ok.. UNCLE!
we get it, you don't like the movie. jesus
- Mimio0
I like some stupid movies, just not this one. This movie is nothing more than a love letter to other genres of film. That territory is already well traversed, in more original ways.
- arinya0
Yeah it did. Don't mess with white bitches. Was I the only one that got that?
- Mr_Jump0
See Mimio understands me. The rest of ya - y'all geeks!!
- Mimio0
Yeah, it's called melodrama here. When it's formulaic, it doesn't play well. I'm all for using the language of film for effect, but this movie was just plain stupid and had nothing to say about anything, especially the movies that it was borrowing from. Jackie Brown was good, but only because its basically a b-movie of a Elmore Leonard novel.
- arinya0
And you can't get over the cheesiness of the Kill Bill?!?!? LOL!
- Mr_Jump0
I do understand eastern cinema. I grew up watchin bollywood movies for fucks sake.
- rson0
I thought the movie was great. It stayed true to orginal Shaw brothers movies. (master killer, drunken monk...etc.)
- arinya0
oh and who ever said no content probably does not get the whole honor and revenge thing. I've heard it before by alot of people say that about easten films and don't understand or comprehend the characters motives. It's something that most peeps on the west side of globe don't seem to grasp well. It eastern style story telling. I can't quite explain it but everything is really dramatic almost too dramatic for westerner to take seriously or understand when you watch or hear it. Am I making sense?
- Mr_Jump0
Yeah it's one of those movies u either love or hate. I'm not all into parodies of parodies. Rather watch some real samurai flick - Beat Takeshi anyone?
- arinya0
I love it. The movie was purely going over the top what is old Samurai movies (spraying blood), Westerns, B-movies (corny, over the top dialog), anime style story telling (jumping around in the timeline) and good ol fashion shock cinema. I can't wait to see part two.
- Mr_Jump0
Yeah, i'm aware of the Irony.
And that it was B-movie cheese. But then, i dont watch many B-movies. And i'm not all clued up with Tarantino's in-jokes. Maybe i'm looking too much into it, but there were scenes that i watched and actually thought "this is plain stupid".
- dessalles0
heh...
"all style, no content"
i just think that's a funny thing to say on a design forum.
ok.
...sorry, i'll go now
- woodyBatts0
Have you ever seen Battle Royale?
- BonSeff0
that b movie cheese was intentional im sure. meant for those with a sense of humor
- Mr_Jump0
Dude, It was soooo excessive. It was fucking ridiculous. Limbless freaks running around the place. I was like what? Zero sense.
- BonSeff0
how could voilence in a movie about revenge seem pointless
lol
