yumm nothing like processed mystery meat on a stick? kidding of course. vegetarian for a year and a half now. Never felt better and never have enjoyed the variety of foods that i do now. When I ate meat i constantly struggled w/ minor illness. Having now moved to a diet that excludes animals (except for the occasional dairy product) I rarely get sick anymore.

pushme, Im not sure that you could attribute your lack of illness with no-meat, but whatever does it for you.

yeah I here that cutting things out of your diet really does expand the variety available to you.

i call myself a vegetarian for ten years now. recently ive been eating fish back again because im tired of all that soy and grainy stuff. you should know im like a junkfood veggie, never spending too much time in the kitchen.
i use to source down everything in the supermarket looking for animal ingredients like gelatin etc. i dont do that anymore, cant be bothered. if you ask me if i'd stay vegetarian for the rest of my life i'd say probably yes cause the look of a dead roasted piece of muscle is gruesome.
but never say neverits me who draws the line how far i take it and not im not living by the general opinion what a vegetarian is ought/allowed to eat or not.
theres no such thing as a 100% vegan i think cause even photofilm has gelatin in it.
some varnishes of paint and fillers rely on animal subsidues...for those who live by the vegan lifestyle:
BIG UPS : ) but dont fool yourself, we're all part of the process, the chain...

Give me meat any day of the week. Love it, live life large! Especially African game, no fat and great for you! :)

The antibiotics that cows are pumped with, and no doubt all livestock, have been proven to strengthen a bacteria/viruses resistance to antibiotics that we take, and also weakens our resistance to these bacterias/visuses.
So the bacteria/viruses are stronger, we are weaker (the meat eaters, anyway), and there are numerous mutating varieties of everything from polio to herpes.
I think it'd be safe to conclude that you are healthier, not just do to nutrition, but because of the crap they pump the animals with, if you don't eat meat. Also, the hormones they are using has been proven to cause ADD.
If you aren't convinced, look at Wired's stats, particularly the latest issue.

Eat meat from countries that don't pump in shit. We used to slaughter our own wild goats in Namibia, that was so much fun! :)

Jason... you re living in PA now, what meat do you eat now?
You got a cow in the garden where you cut a piece of every now and then;P

Just the ones that saw a cow dying hitted in its head, a pig screaming hanged by its foot and a truck with over 500 chickens in cages to go mudered will understand how important is to be clean.
If you grow some plants, some vegetables, you understand the process of live, of nature, of not being cruel.
Is easy to don't see what's behind the ready made things you pick at thew supermarket.
Earth and future need more itelligent people to keep safe.

meat vs. veggie/vegan seems to be the thread of the day ... not very design-related but nevertheless interesting, haha.
