I was just trying to help you rather you sitting around for three days waiting to fill out that other thread and then having to check back. I think that's what 4cY was getting at with his pink thread earlier. :)

thanks man. i am a bit dumb today. its been a hungover day here in san francisco. i am slowly figuring things out. ;-)
- JazX0
you rock dude have fun in Germany
- stewart0
yes D7, been there - PotsdammerPlatz
biked around there for hours, searching the Jewish Museum...
- xqmc0
is it easy to get around germany without knowing any of its language?
- stewart0
well, xqmc.
allthough their english accent is funny, i think it is possible.

"is it easy to get around germany without knowing any of its language?"
As long as you stay in Berlin most people will understand english. Usually in Germany you have english lessons in school from 4th grade. (But avoid any eastern suburbs such as Marzahn... Trust me.)

in the western part of germany (I don't know about the east) it should be quite easy to get around - I think a high percentage of germans do speak at least a little english. give it a try, we're not as lame as you might think :)
btw, I've been to berlin 3 years ago and took some pics. maybe you're interested...

ah, may I suggest visiting hamburg, cologne and munich? there's a massive hype about berlin these days, but there's so much more...
- xqmc0
is cologne = köln? yea, ive heard a lot of berlin and not anywhere else.
well, i'm not going anytime soon (can't afford to right now..) but germany is definitely on my list of travels.
nice pictures there, stylepimp :)

I didn't go anywhere near the Eastern border of Deutschland when I was there. That was a bit scary according to some I know. I wasn't trying to experience the former Russian occupancy.

hey JazX,
look at this (nice intro!)
- stewart0
wow... Honeckerrr.
- stewart0
paul, you have some more tips for the next time i go visit Berlin?
- unknown0
i didn't read all the threads so could be possibly say the same but sure, here ya go:
oh. remember that most clubs tend to move around a lot or are temporary.
a) don't take a hotel/motel in the west. east baby. circus hostel is pretty cheap. do have single rooms. although not that many.
b) must go: white trash fast food, torstrasse 201 (east / club, bar, restaurant. mayhem)
c) rio, chaussestrasse (east / club)
d) wmf, karl marx allee (east / club)
e) big eden, kurfurstendamm (west / club) not every night is ok. they do have weird shit going on. is a disco that hasn't changed since the 70's. looks amazing. some nights (especially punkrocknights) are dope.
f) harvey oswald bar, gruenbergerstrasse (bar, duh)
g) panoramabar (forgot the address, don't know if they are still around, nightclub, end of the world).
when you're in berlin. get the zitty. almost anything is in there. with a complete agenda and addresses. for shops get the 1000 (free).
that's what pops in mind though.

"big eden" is a tourist spot. You will find 14 year old german teengirls and japanese travel groups only. Not cool.
Got to the "Kurvenstar" instead. http://www.kurvenstar.de
This is the place where designers and creative people meet.
- unknown0
dude!!! when was the last time you were in big eden? like i said. not all nights. if you check it out then you'll find pil music doing parties there as well as alex hacke (einsturzende neubauten) with his bada bing parties.
stewart don't go to places where people say this about: "This is the place where designers and creative people meet. " because those places are so freaking boring. there's nothing worse than a club full of berlin slacker creatives posing and acting all look at me how cool i am kind of bullshit.....
- D70
"there's nothing worse than a club full of berlin slacker creatives posing and acting all look at me how cool i am kind of bullshit..... "
I didnt talk of a place where "slacker creatives" are posing but where creative people meet.
Believe a native-born Berliner stewart. ;)
Anyway... big eden could have changed. The last time I was there is like 7 years ago... *lol*

uhm. lemme see... so you criticize me about mentioning a so called tourist trap and acting all mr. knowitall and you haven't been there for 7 yrs? allright. that makes you credible.
and on a more serious note. the creatives i met here who weren't slackers weren't german either. most (native)berlin creatives i know are slackers. complaining about that there's no work (which there is if you work for it) with hardly any work ethic and drinking latte macchiatos all day in acting all interesting. seriously. i haven't seen a berlin creative start at 9 either. 14.00 earliest. but that's my observation. could be typically east though.

i think B-flat on FriedrichStrasse is a hotspot these times?
i tried to get in there on a saturday evening - but you had to drink your beer on the sidewalk because it was too crowdy inside.
