I did just about everything these fine berliners have recommmended, and I agree with them. Only problems I had was that the Judisches Museum was very ugly in person. That was a let down. The metal facade was very junky looking. The funny thing is that I took pictures of it... and the pictures make it look gorgeous!!?? go figure.
Another let down was the Bauhaus Archive. They really didn't have much on display, which was surprising because the bauhaus produced soooo much!
I highly recommend going up the top of the Reichstag dome at night. It was beautiful and memorable.
Another cool museum was the Brohan Museum in Charlottenburg. A massive collection of very cool art nouveau/art deco.
Also a must is the hamburger bahnhof museum. very cool, old train station - turned massive art museum.
Unfortunately most of the museums on Museum Island where under renovation. The Pergamon was still open, though. Gorgeous stolen pieces on display. A must if you fancy seeing things such as the original gates of fucking Babylon!! I was in awe.
I could go on but my fingers are tired....

thank you, thank you.
but what about my $2000 bike i'm taking with me...
can i park it safely on the Berrlin streets with just one Dutch chain-lock?
- mezelve0
well if it looks like a $2000 bike then you better take more than one lock along
the railway company has tons of bike standing around in the city which you can rent

thanks for the tip, mezelve, i'll call them.
but i don't want to rent a bike that looks like a rented bike (with all the advertisements of the bike rental on it. i'm not a tourist!)

then you better bring a grandma´s bike ... i´m also cruising around on such an old thing

Gorbie, thanks! i booked 4 days in the Miniloft - it looks great.
i have to stay one day in a sleezy hotel next door, but that's because i booked a little too late (2 days before!)
if you have some Berlin pictures, please post them - ill do that next thursday when i'm back in Holland.

Nice! The beds in the Miniloft are soooo comfortable. I had to kick my girlfriend to get her up in the morning!
I don't know if you saw any of these... I haven't had the time to put together a proper slide show.
