I think it's OK. Although when I look at it my eyes are going everywhere, up down and around the page. The anime figure seems unrelated and the image of the skater doesn't seem to be in a setting that make you think it's a contest. I think the only reason you know it's even a contest is the one word compete. There is some good design there stylistically but maybe you could refine it to have a stronger message and possibly immediatly jump out at you like boom!, contest, here, this time, be there! Maybe try a few different aproaches.
