I have GoogleTV.. it's great.. the new Honeycomb update made a lot of good things happen.

You can now run full blown Android apps, games and so on directly on your TV. Sony one with GoogleTV integrated is really great cause it doesn't require a box..

I have the old Logitech one and while the initial experience needed apps, it was VERY useful. The power to watch live TV, search the web and watch that and have access to the full blown browser along with services like Amazon, Netflix worked perfectly.

I loved it mostly because of Amazon support along with Netflix but it was great to be able to just check out something on the web quickly.

It was very expensive though. It was not worth $299 (for what I paid). But now it's $99 if you want to buy Logitech box and I'm sure it's a great thing if you want to have things I mentioned above plus full blown apps.

I will just have to point out is that you might want to check out new Samsung and LG TVs. The latest models have support for SmartTV powered apps and games. So it's kind of a similar thing but might work on both LG and Samsung TVs.. The good thing about GoogleTV though is that it might support the same apps too. I think they all build it on top of Android.

Also.. I think SmartTV platform also supports Flash stuff on the web, plus other Adobe tech built apps. But GoogleTV supports that too.

I think GoogleTV is better than SmartTV personally but these 2 will be prevalent platforms in the future and I think that Google will make GoogleTV a part of everything with Motorola cable boxes being everywhere.

I don't think you lose anything really. If you don't like it, you don't use it. It shouldn't cost anything extra on that TV anywyas.

    • I was thinking the honey comb would really make this tv great... but i didnt know it was out already. I liek the all-in-one idea because i need a new tv anyway
