    first bike 15k?
hahahah... don't even try to go there. seriously, ... first bikes are about getting something good that will last, and staying with it for a while, then getting what you *really* want.

you'll probably drop it a few times, which really isn't a big deal, but start out easy then work it up. plus, you know, if you get your dream machine right off the bat, what are you going to lust over? that's half the fun.

if you can rock 5k, you will get a killer bike that's a 3-5 years old and will run + look like new. easy enough.

then sell it for more than you bought it, and get a bike that you learn you want by what you don't like about that bike.

i mean, in my book, any bike is a good bike. it's about the riding.

as for insurance, i'm 27, live in manhattan, and it's only 400 bux a year through progressive. and it was only 280 when i had a 750cc (the 1100cc is what pushed it up)

can't wait to hit up ebay and cycletrader to see what they've got for ya ;)
