Possible Copyright Infringement Advice Jun 30, 10, 7:57 a.m.
Hi guys
I am wondering what you all would think of this.
A web design company is using a screenshot of my art website as an example of an artist’s website that they could design for you. They don’t say that they designed the site but they said it an example of a website design that you could look at for inspiration when you talk to them about designing your site.
I designed my website, and I was never contacted about giving permission about using my website as an ad for them.
Here is the page in question:
http://www.dreamcodesign.com/art…
As you can see they use many other artist’s sites as part of an inspiration gallery. My site is the thumbnail on the bottom right (www.lynnetteshelley.com)
I know there are many sites where you can look at inspiration galleries of websites. I don't even mind them, I just don't like how, if someone doesn't read the fine print, it looks like their company designed my website for me and they are using my design to hawk their own "design" services.
Is this infringement? Do I have any rights to request my thumbnail be taken down? I did email them and ask them to remove it so we'll see if that resolves anything....
Question for the room at large re: licensing Dec 15, 09, 9:04 a.m.
HI all
I am still finding out some details but I was contacted by another designer off the internet and they wanted to know if they could purchase the rights to one of my artworks to use in part of a logo for another company.
I put in some questions about the size of the company, where it is located and whether or not they want exclusive rights ( I am waiting to get a response ). I have used the artwork on t-shirts etc already (but only minimally). If I were to sell the rights, what should I ask for and is there any way for me to keep the credit for the image (i.e. not have the other designer pass off the artwork as their own creation)?
Sorry if these are dumb questions but I am inexperienced with licensing. Thanks in advance for any help in this matter.
Javascript slideshow zoom? May 4, 09, 7:19 a.m.
Hi
Got someone that would like a slideshow for some images on a website but he would like the users to be able to zoom in and out of each image. Is there a javascript effect for something like this (as opposed to flash?)
Threadless? Apr 9, 09, 4:57 p.m.
Does anybody here submit their designs to Threadless? What is your experience with them like? I am debating on whether or not to do so because they basically own your design copyright if your artwork gets picked.
On another note, are there any decent tshirt printing vendors that you've worked with in the past that you would recommend? Preferably one that will not burn too large a hole in my wallet....
I keep getting requests for Tshirts for my artwork but have not gone about it before so am weighing my options.
Thanks in advance!

Refurbished printer question Dec 26, 08, 8:29 a.m.
Hi
I am thinking of picking up a refurbished Epson Stylus R2400 Photo Printer. Does anybody have any experience with refurbished printers (or with this Epson printer in general)? A friend of mine has one and is happy with it, but he bought his new. Would I be better off paying more money to get a new one, or would a refurbished one work just as well (the one I am looking at comes with a one year warranty). Thanks in advance for your advice....
"Native American" font ideas Jul 17, 08, 2:13 p.m.
I have a client that wants a "Native American" looking font. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
The Red Masque open for Ascension of the Watchers, Philly, Feb 21 Feb 13, 08, 9:39 a.m.
The Red Masque open for Ascension of the Watchers (featuring members from Fear Factory and Ministry); Plus other news
This just in! Philadelphia avant rock band The Red Masque will be opening for Ascension of the Watchers, featuring Burton C. Bell of Fear Factory, at the Khyber in Philadelphia on Feb. 21.
"Ascension of The Watchers, the creative journey of Burton C. Bell (Fear Factory, G//Z/R) and John Bechdel (False Icons, Fear Factory, Killing Joke, Prong, Ministry, and Murder Inc.), is a vision born of life, love and spirituality. The intimate nature of Ascension of The Watchers is envisioned to draw the minds, hearts and aspirations of a people to a higher level of thinking and feeling by bringing them together in celebration and reflection in the beauty of life and spirituality, through these melodies and words."

About The Red Masque: "From Pennsylvania hails a quartet without limitations to their purposes and without shame regarding norms and dogma within new rock." - Tarkus Magazine
"In the Nu-progressive rock underground, few bands are as respected and feared as Philadelphia's The Red Masque. Without irony or kitsch, the whirlwind that is Masque ... stalks the darkness of Hammer Horror ambience and cursedly complex musicianship (think Gong meets Bauhaus) with only feedbacking noise, sound-collage clustering and the howl of vocalist Lynnette Shelley to light its way." - Philadelphia City Paper
The Red Masque website: http://www.theredmasque.com and http://www.myspace.com/myredmasq…
Along with Ascension of the Watchers and The Red Masque, the evening will also feature The Collingwood and Cloudminder. Showtime is 8 PM and tickets are $8. To purchase advance tickets, or for further venue information, go to the Khyber's website at http://www.thekhyber.com
