Just found this nice google-maps mashup. (no this is no shameless self promo)
It checks the myspace page of a band to see where it will play or if something will play (with) in (range of) a certain city

This is just a rant and needs a bit of text to explain so bare with me.
I've been working on the website of a former professor (just some customized wordpress, so nothing to go into now). Last friday, when I was there doing some requested alterations I noticed a booklet. It looked alright and curious as I am took a peek inside.. it felt strangly familiar. My professor told me, another professors from the same university had made it.
The longer I looked at the more I began to recognize.. The font (Minion), the grid (5 columns), the design (the grid, visible as dashed lines) and the way everything stuck to the width of the columns. And then it hit me; This was based on my own graduation-work, which dealt with newspapers (that's where the font-choice and the five-column grid came from).
I wanted to tell the professor I was with.. and all I could really say was: "Well, he must have liked my work".
Sunny Day May 3, 08, 11:47 a.m.
Today was the first day of the year above 20ºC (68ºF), so I'm wearing shorts and flipflops, listening to some soothing tunes by Tristan Prettyman (who is actually a woman, who would have guessed with such a name?). Programming a site you will be hearing a lot more of soon.. I think I'll shut down the computer and enjoy the last rays of sun before it sets...

- 'Filter' actually means 'Search'
- When you click your mousewheel (or third button) on a contracted news-section (pvn / ec / pc) it'll open the Filter page for that section.
- You can use the left and right arrow-key to flip through notes.
more?

FIT 02/01/2008 Feb 1, 08, 4:08 a.m.
This weeks theme:
"That's when it started..."
Explanation:
Use the Theme above to create an illustration before the end of this week (so before 09/01/2008). Any material/medium is allowed, as long as you're able to post a picture of it in this thread. (If you have no place to host your image , use a free service like www.photobucket.com )
You're free to interpret the theme any way you'd like. If you're having trouble with this, think of it as the beginning of a story - what started?
good luck everyone!

Since there seem to be a lot of illustrators around lately -- How about a QBN version of an illustration-friday? Maybe make it bi-weekly or monthly?
who's down?

Identity of News Mar 24, 07, 12:52 a.m.
Anyone has some suggested reading (books/links) on how the branding of news-sources leads to compromising the objectivity of the news and our general world-view?
thnx

looking for GlitchArt Jun 9, 06, 10:41 a.m.
Hi, I'm looking for this website where somebody had opened files as other filetypes wich caused the files to be displayed beautifully distorted. (ex. opened .JPEG as .BMP). But I can't seem to find any trace of it.
thnx
(have a nice weekend)
