...momentum in the final season
Site Check pls. Aug 27, 08, 12:28 a.m.
I've been refining this for a while, but I think it's about ready to get some other eyes on it.

interface is all dhtml with the moofx library.
Any feedback would be great, but especially bugs! (if you could detail you system specs that would be a huge help in working them out.)
Thanks in advance!
QBN Thread ads Apr 7, 09, 9:03 p.m.
Ads I can live with, but do they need to overlap the posts?

1 page better? Apr 3, 05, 6:49 p.m.
so the one page 'folio post generated a lot of really nice sites, and it definitely shows a trend towards a 1 page portfolio amongst designers.
but are they actually better?
I've got mixed feelings... they're dead simple to navigate, and do a great job of showcasing work... but do they work?
I've noticed I gloss over 90% of the work in them, don't read the text, and generally click out of them within a few minutes, if that.
I'd say I spend a bit more time on a website with a portfolio on multiple pages, and likely look more closely at the work. though I may not see that piece that caught my eye on the 1 page.
I guess I'm just looking for other's opinions on this. Good trend, or bad. and why.
Acrobat: thick text? Sep 28, 05, 9:37 a.m.
My acrobat is getting all funky on lowercase L's when they're turned to outlines... they display really thick, but all other text is normal.
any body know why this is?
when I zoom in the text is the proper weight...
is there a mode I can switch to to get rid of this?

Anyone able to offer advice on converting myself into a deposit taking bank, or a bank holding entity?
f*ck lost Mar 15, 06, 8:35 p.m.
seriously.
when you've played enough in-season re-runs that you have to dip into last season you've got problems.
Site crit Apr 6, 03, 4:40 p.m.
if you've got the time, have a look and give me any feedback you can. Some stuff is still under developement, but most of it is there.
Any comments appreciated, thanx

what do you think? Dec 10, 02, 4:47 p.m.
"Good design has nothing to do with color or shape. A good idea is a good design. Good thinking is a good design. In motion graphics, we think of design as a sequence over time and space that tells a story. Emptiness can also be good design."--Garson Yu

Design theft Jun 14, 11, 12:56 p.m.
What's the appropriate response when you find out another company has stolen your client's work?
Do inform them and you leave it up to your client? or do you try to protect your product from being debased?
The company in question approached us for the project, but opted to take some of our past client work and have an offshore company change out the content.

I always just eyeball it, but I'm wondering if there's some big thing I'm missing out on here... especially since some of the diagonals in the design above are reading completely greek too me.
Absolutely no offence to the designer, I just don't understand

Portfolio feedback Dec 15, 07, 9:02 p.m.
I'm in the final stages of trying to get my portfolio polished up, and I'd appreciate any feedback or bug reports, especially from Mac users.
Thanks in advance =)
pricing: big brands May 7, 06, 12:03 p.m.
I've never had a chance to work for any of the fortune 500's so I'm curious, What do the big brands pay for their stuff?
Say companies like MTV, Nike, Adidas, GE, etc. what would they pay for a website, an annual report, or a full page ad?
and also, if they pay a premium, does it get siphoned off by the agency of record who then hires the boutique design firm, or is there good money in working for the big guys?
