Helvetica missing Jan 7, 09, 2:58 a.m.

Anyone else have this prob when upgrading to Leopard?

My System font Helvetica seems to be missing, although the font appears in FontExplorerX and is activated by default all the text is in Helvetica Bold unless I activate Arial :-/

Just bought myself a lovely Western Digital My Book 1Tb external drive/

The week leading up to Christmas my internal drive reached capacity and Photoshop was playing up as there was no room for scratch disk etc...

Anyways Im about to transfer all my data over to this external HD/ and dedicate my internal HD just for OSx + apps. (as my internal is only 50gb)

Is there any way of getting Time-Machine to backup my external-HD instead of my internal-HD? Only reason I ask is that it's saved me a couple of headaches in the past being able to go back a couple of days on certain files/

Been scourging forums etc but with no success.

I created a OOP custom class of buttons with tweener transitions. They work great! BUT:

I need to create an 'active' state onRelease for the buttons.

Normally I would have done this in the main timeline with an array and activate function with for-loop etc...

But because my buttons are animated using tweener everything done in the custom class in 1 frame. How do I handle the 'active' states in this particular case?

I know about the issue with banding on gradients between two solid colours when printing. But wanted to know does the banding effect still present itself if it's between say a black and a full colour photograph(using masking in phtotoshop)?

Anyone tried this? Nice or not nice results in printed material?

Ink Coverage Limit Q Nov 13, 08, 4:31 a.m.

Any Print heads out there could you help me out a sec?

Using some large dark abstract images on a folder. The black in the images have a huge combined ink coverage of 300% (C:75% M:68% Y:67% K:90%) !!!

Printers are suggesting recommended ink coverage limit is 225%. Whats the best way of changing the ink coverage of the black in the image in photoshop? OR is there an option on the postscript? ‘under colour removal’?

Anyone care to share how the article thumbnails are achieved here at QBN, with the 'Editors Choice' section. How do you just display 6 articles + feature and then cycle through to the next 6. Is it jQuery &/or Ajax or something else? Wanting to achieve a similar thing using textpattern.
