I have a client who wants to add a news section to their currently static site.

Presented a side bar on all pages/ with latest 5-10 articles. It would need to be quick and accessible for the client to update.

Is there anything out there 'like a news widget' that could be used without having to install something like Wordpress???

Im thinking about using something like FreshBooks to streamline my estimates and invoices.

Currently just creating estimates in pdf and sending across with T&C's (adapted from AIGA). Client then faxes back signed estimate and back page of T&C's. It's a bit of a pain in the ass way of doing things.

What does everyone else do when I comes to estimates? Is e-mail response enough to cover you in the event a project turns nasty? I don't think FreshBooks or others include a signature field.

Using MCTween on external SWF's. But each time they load I get a white flicker before transitions start. Anyone know why. Also using MCTween in the main fla.

All external swf's have stop keyframes so I'm a bit puzzled. Is there an issue I should be aware of with this???

Just noticed something a bit odd.

Published 'contactform.swf' It works fine, but when I test on a PC the @ symbol for the e-mail address field uses the mac shortcut instead ( so you get (")).

Is there any way to ensure both platform get @.

Got a few low-res comps done in photoshop that I want to get printed digitally. Currently separating the text and using Genuine Fractals for the graphics in the background.

Aside from doing the design twice anyone got any advice for increasing the res without too much loss? + doing comps in Hi-res from scratch is really slow on my G4 w 2GB of Ram/ How does everyone else tackle complex comps that need to be output for Hi-res?

Hi guys, trying to cut a long story short, I started doing some freelance for a company back in October. All seemed to be going really well, we had agreed pricing on jobs etc, and I got on really well with the main person at the company who is a web developer. Problem is the company has yet to pay me for any of the work done since October.

I would have done something sooner except the guy keeps getting me lots of other work from other clients that do pay. And I have to collaborate with the guy on a lot of the projects.

Thing is some of the work I had done at the beginning for these guys was not formally covered by a contract. Im not sure if I should threaten legal action or just leave it as a lesson learned. I really need the money at the moment and it's been 6- months/ I have sent many e-mails and called the guy every few days about this. They just aren't taking it seriously. They say that until their customers pay them they can't pay me. I'm tempted to contact their customers directly and negotiate payment with them instead. AAARRrrggg what to do :-(

And if most of your stuff is digital do you really need a book for job interviews?

In context this would be for Designer/Creative/ roles.

Im grouping and resizing but all the point sizes etc.... got all screwed up. Is there any way to stop this when you group items in InDesign.

Been following the GTD thread and downloaded OmniFocus over the w/e now looking at timing each task, hopefully make faster decisions with meh design work.

If anyone knows of a better timer that sits in the background or minimises nice like itunes post it here!.
