A fresh look at this topic. This thread is to discuss...

- Changes in global temperature
- Different things cause the climate to change
- How much impact humans & greenhouse gases (GHGs) have on our climate
- The effects of a warmer world
- What we can do to minimize the threat of a warmer world
- How design can play a role in any of the above (solutions, awareness, etc.)

Realizing this thread has the potential to go downhill very quickly, please try to keep an open mind to different possibilities and remember that this is a scientific issue before anything else.

This film about the U.S. national debt came out last summer, but I just got around to watching it. We're all pretty much hosed.

I highly recommend watching it so you have an idea of what's going on. As a designer who hates looking at a bunch of numbers, I really dug it. They did a good job of illustrating things for everyone to understand.

I'd appreciate a little freelance advice here.

I'm discussing doing some design work for a friend of a friend. The work is for a new product that has the potential to do very well, but since they are new at it, it could just as well flop. They said that since they are not yet selling the product, they'd like to compensate me with a percent ownership in the company. This will allow them to pay me only after they begin making money, and could potentially pay me annually if the product does well. It will also provide an added incentive for me to do a good job. The better the marketing, the more they sell, and the more money I make.

Has anyone here made a deal like this before? Any suggestions on how to make sure I don't get screwed?

Definitely need to talk them out of that one! What are some fonts that are SIMILAR IN STYLE, but better, cleaner, more original?
