ISO Paper in NYC Oct 29, 12, 9:40 p.m.
So after deathstorm leaves us, does anyone have any idea where I can find ISO paper sizes? Specifically, I need JIS B5 but also will be restocking on A4. A4 can be found pretty much anywhere and is made by US paper mills but B5 seems nonexistent, much less the JIS variant. I'll try Kinkokuniya when the subways come back online but I thought maybe someone would have a source I hadn't thought of.

Rattle Me... Jun 2, 12, 5:03 p.m.
So all this stuff about snakes and whatnot... okay, cool... if I was a kid and saw some dude playing with a rattlesnake while doing his thing I'd probably stay to watch... but then this:
He added that he regularly drinks strychnine during worship services, to show God has power over poison.
“In my life I’ve probably drunk two gallons of it,” Wolford said. “Once you drink it, there is no turning back. All your muscles contract at once. Your body starts stiffening out. Your lungs; it’s like you can’t breathe.”
He’d gotten sick from strychnine a handful of times. “I was up all night struggling to breathe and move my muscles and repeating Bible verses that say you can ‘drink any deadly thing and it won’t hurt you,’ ” Wolford told me, recounting one episode. He said a voice in his head taunted him as he struggled to recover.
“The devil said, ‘You’re going to die, you’re going to die,’ ” he said. “You can’t go to the hospital. There is not a lot they can do. But (seeking medical help) means you’re already starting to lose faith.”

qbNYCers selling your monitor? Mar 27, 12, 4:26 p.m.
I was browsing J&R, newegg, etc. for a new monitor and figured I'd put this out there in case anyone local wants to unload since we'd likely have the same needs...
The bigger the better...
IPS or SPLS preferred... (how's the tint issue?)
Looking at the Samsung SyncMaster, maybe a Dell or something too... don't really care as long as the panel is good.
If you're not selling a monitor but have recommendations I'll take those too...

SVG or canvas? Jan 3, 12, 12:13 a.m.
So I'm getting back into the game a little bit and I want to utilize all that fancy web spice I have in the cupboard...
Say I have a bunch of hi-res items and want to serve up a couple at a time at various resolutions depending on what they're being used for– canvas or SVG? It sounds like canvas is more versatile, but performance wise is it gonna bite me in the ass if I have a multi-layered CAD drawing that's been converted to one or the other? Most of the info I can find on this stuff is pretty old, so if anyone's lazy and and can link to a good summary I'll take that too.

JS sliding gallery May 30, 10, 3:17 p.m.
Alright I need a little help here since I've been mucking around with all the wrong things for too long already... This is what I want to do:
It's a shitty example but it's all I found since I can't remember any good examples. Things I want to do differently from that live example though is 1) I don't want the overflow hidden, i.e. I want the images to simply run off the side of the page and 2) I'd also like to lower the opacity for images not in the main view.
I know this should be easy, and I've got jquery, but I'd really appreciate some help while I'm still sane enough to understand it.

Max Bill's designs for Junghans...
The top one is my favorite but the cheapest I can find either is around $700. Any ideas for similar watches? I'm looking for something automatic, very simple construction, the more low key the better. I do not like to see the date, metal bands, any more than a primary dial, etc. Any leads would be nice, new or even just pics of random watches. I'll likely be taking any pics I can find to a few people to keep their eyes out in order to sell me something similar.
