27" Monitors

I got the green light to pick out a new 27" monitor for work. I was considering the Apple 27" LED Display or the Dell U2711. I will be using this exclusively for doing web design. Any thoughts or info would be great. Also if anyone could recommend a solid calibrator that would be great too.

iTunes stays in background

My iTunes stays behind all other windows when I select it. It has been like the for like 8 months. I have done my research and search forums and the Apple support site but no luck. I was wondering if anyone had this issue or if they may know of a fix.

Canon 24-70L or 24-105L

I'm doing some research on my next lens for my Canon 5d Mk I. I currently have a 50mm f/1.4. I mostly shoot landscape, architecture, and portraits. A lot of my shots are in low light and I was wondering what people here are using. I know the 24-70 has a larger aperture and is faster and is also more accurate at 24mm. I know the down fall is that it's heavier and I heard it is a bit soft wide open. I originally had my eyes set on this lens but i have heard the 24-105 is something I should consider since it has image stabilization. I understand that the IS doesn't really matter if you are shooting something that is moving, so i was wonder what peoples thoughts are. Please post any examples if you have them. Thanks

New CNN Website Opinions

Personally I think the red header is obnoxious and distracting. I'm sure there are some cool things once you dig deeper. Any thoughts?

IE Tester Alternative

Does anyone know of an IE Tester alternative? I know of litmusapp but I need something that i can also test javascript and jquery. IE Tester would be fine if it didn't crash every 5 minutes. I also don;t want to have to run 3 instances of Xp with different versions of IE on it. I need to test of ie6,7,8. Any recommendations would be appreciated.
Thanks

Web Designer Houly/Day Rates

I'm in NYC and it seems since the economy is in the oilet there are a lot more talented freelancers out there taking up all the freelance work. It seems like a lot are charging lower rates as well. I just wanted to see what people are charging these days for hourly/day rates. I usually bill at $70/hr but I can't seem to charge that much anymore. Anyone else noticing this problem?

Drobo Alternatives

I was wondering if anyone knew of any external hard drive alternatives to the Drobo. I'm looking for a 1TB raid so that everything will be backed up twice in case one drive fails. I've seen a few externals out there but i was wondering if anyone has anything besides it. I'm looking for one that is a reasonable price and reliable with fire wire 800.

Invoice Question

I have a client in which I did some html/css coding for. I had to come off of my hourly rate b/c their budget with the client got cut. So I gave them a set price for the project. Anyway, they were to provide me with a template to code the other pages (forms) out with. When I got the template I noticed the person who wrote the code didn't know what they were really doing(they had 3 different freelancers coding the pages so the code/image names weren't consistent) and the project went beyond the 10 hour scope that was anticipated. Also they had me make additional changes. I ended up working 22 hours. They were impressed by my thoroughness and had me take another project of fixing the code on the pages so they display correctly on ie6. This takes a long time especially when 3 different people are coding the pages. They asked for my total hours. Should I bill them hourly for the work on the first project or do I need to use the set price and eat the extra hours I worked? If the code was valid and good this would have taken a lot less time. We agreed upon a set price of $400 ($40/hr for 10 hours). I assume I will charge them the same $0/hr for the second project. Any help would be appreciated.
