Don't know if anyone's picked up the most recent Rolling Stone, but there's an article in there about Shepard Fairey.

He's facing 87 years in prison if convicted on vandalism charges, on top of that the Associated Press is all suing him for using one of their images as the starting point of the "Hope" poster.

"Lawsuits are the center of my world right now" he says. "I'm having trouble sleeping. But last year was amazing. I wouldn't take anything back"

Really? We have nothing better to do in this country then spend our time and money attacking who is going to be, like him or not, one of the most recognizable and influential artists of our generation. So instead of Shep working on his art and career, his time is being wasted on this shit.

I work as a graphic designer in the in house Marketing Dept of a major bank in NY.

I am 24 years old, have been here for almost 3 years (started pretty much right out of college) and am already better at my job then the “senior” designer who hired me and has been here for over 20 years.

I have been getting a lot of side work and bust my ass to do good work but it’s tough coming home from a 8:30-5:00 and sit in front of the computer again and produce quality work. I’m just not fresh.

I enjoy the side stuff so much more and would love to put all of my focus into that and just say fu©k the bank. I’m having trouble pulling the trigger and committing myself to leaving. I’m not totally unhappy at the bank all the time – I have been recognized for my work and have started to get the more important projects from the head of marketing (which does not make the “senior” designer very happy and makes things a little awkward between the two of us).

I feel like I am learning a lot about organization and structure and functioning in a major corporation at the bank, but I am so sick of the same brand and I feel I would become a much better designer if I broke off and did my own thing.

My head has been spinning and I’ve been going back and forth on this for a while now. I also feel like I am only 24 and not married or tied down – this is my chance to try something...then again I do have expenses and don’t want to decrease my income and lose out on benefits...

If anyone actually read through this whole rant and have been through a similar situation and/or can offer some advice I would really appreciate it.

So I bought a Maxtor external hard-drive a little while back - it says that it is compatible with Mac and PC but my Mac doesn't recognize it

I've been lazy about trying to troubleshoot (I googled a few reccomendations to no avail) and will probably just buy a new external -buuut before I do, I figure I would ask if anyone has experienced something like this and found a solution...anyone?

I can't get rid of the selection edges in Photoshop. You should be able to go to View>Show> and then select whether or not you want to see them, but when I go to do that, 'Selection Edges' is gray and not selectable. I hate selection edges...anyone ever have this problem that can offer some help? I'm gonna lose it if i cant get rid of them.

I am designing a brochure for someone I know relatively well - I can get 1,000 of them printed for $390 - she's already referred me another client and I have a feeling she will be giving me more references in the future. It's letter sized tri-fold brochure - I'm thinking of charging around $600 for design and printing (so I’ll be making $210) does that sound about right?

Im tryin to post a song on my website using quicktime -- when i test the site off of my computer everything works fine, but when I upload it, the quicktime controller disappears and the logo is there in its place -- if you go to my site you can see what im talking about -- any advice?
