As you could have FIFA games represented by people playing football. Just can't find any decent images that dont come with a heifty price tag

Can anyone help with this problem

I have categories labeled as friends (friend 1, friend 2, friend 3...)

Is there anyway I can have a next and previous links like you get for posts (eg next_post_link) but for categories if you are looking at friend 2's posts you can then click to view friend 1 or 3

or will I have to use 'if' and 'elseif' to determine which friend/category you are on and manually add the links myself?

I have been asked to do a email signiture for a client and they use lotus notes and ive never used this program before.

normally I would just create a html file, or build one using word or something (for outlook), but can you do this for lotus notes? (I havent got a clue what version they are using, but all I know is they have trouble sending emails with signitures on)

I have a client who has supplied me with a DVD which they want on the website, its like a 8 minute video.

Ive managed to rip it as an AVI but its like 280mb and when I compress it to FLV it comes out at 9mb ish...

Am I alright to put this on the website, or should I use vimeo or youtube, cant think as ive never uploaded video before.

Any help on what I should do would be cool, as I dont want to burn up bandwith or anything

Need some advice on what I could do for a print job.

Client liked the idea of using a flock wallpaper styled background, but wanted to know if there are any other methods instead of just actually printing it on the paper.

Anyone used any other methods??
As obviously I couldn't use a spot UV as that wouldn't go through the clients laser printer??

Does anyone know how to make a submit field where people can enter in there postcode and it directs them to google maps using the direction facility. (so postcode to preset destination)

Its pretty easy to do as a html form.

But im just wondering if the method is the same for flash? tried looking for any examples but cant find any!

I'm asking because where I work its just a small team, 3 of us and im the only person with web development knowledge.

So whenever I get stuck on anything, mainly flash, I cant really ask someone in the studio and get some different ideas and well... actually learn anything!

So im looking for some nice ways of brushing up on flash etc so I can keep a learning curve.

Video tuts seem better than following a book, so im keen on hearing if anyone else has been in my shoes and what they would do to keep on learning, and if lynda.com is worth the $$$

client wants a html email, and when it loads on someones email program, it auto open a html page.

I dont think its possible, but need someone to let me know

I've done a html email footer for a client, used external images that are on a server linked into the html. works fine

but the client says that whenever they send an email it doesnt display the image but a red cross.

Im just wondering if there is anything wrong with my html? or is it a outlook problem that blocks images?

has anyone had this happen to them, as I could do with some help on how to fix it?

I know a little about adding text boxes with PDFs so you can type in your own text into the PDF and print it out, as I want to supply a client with a letterhead as a PDF but I want to know if they can enter text like this image

I know you can draw normal square text box, but can you do what its like in the image??

so the quote and the name of the person are in different fonts in flash calling from an XML file as the client wants to change these quotes from time to time!

any help on finding a tutorial?

I can find the one line version, so it can call the quote, but I also need the persons name as well, in a different font style.

BTW my actionscripting is limited, so I can write it myself :(

So I uploaded a website I built in CSS,
the client has told the guy who im freelancing for, that when he types in the domain, it just shows up a white screen and nothing in it - no content! where as we can view it fine

im just wondering if its a IE5 problem?
(yes thats right the client is on windows 2000 with IE5!)

ive also tried a W3C validation and get the current error;

500 EOF when chunk header expected

any help on this would be great as I dont have a clue why he cant at least see some of the website even though IE5 might not display the CSS correctly!

where it has the main singer, and he moves about this house, but the house is made up into different photographs and its a kinda cut and paste style.
so when he moved out of one door, he re appeared in another photograph.

im sure it was a flash website?

yes another CSS question.
ive got a html page, normal 100% height with a center aligned background image, works fine.
my problem is that the footer which aligns flush to the bottom of the page, doesnt on IE6, its like 1px out!

Works fine on all other browsers!
