I start next Monday. Super excited. Strangely enough, after applying for probably two dozen different positions over the past three months, a recruiter found my profile on linkedin which led him to my portfolio. Kickoff's in a few hours. I can't believe, with all of the hype from ESPN and the presence of FSC, this match is only on mun2/telemundo.

My head tells me 2-1 Mexico, my heart says 3-1 USA. I couldn't imagine being on that pitch, in that stadium for this match.

i got a job and am moving out there next month. i'd like to live somewhat close to the office, but seeing as i've never been to LA, i'm not sure if that's smart. the office is located near santa monica & n. la brea. i've heard los feliz is nice, and somewhat similiar to the town i'm leaving so it might be an easier transition. budget for rent is around $2000/ month. any ideas/help would rock.

also, it's been suggested i look at mt. washington, silver lake, and eagle rock. would the commute be terrible from these places? i've been trying to figure it out w/ the help of google maps, but it's still tough not being there.

anyone else having problems with their subscription? i still haven't received the resfest issue that's been out for what, 3 months now? and the issue before that with gondry on the cover was over a month late because they supposedly had my address wrong. funny that i received every other issue before it without a problem. now they refuse to answer my emails. what's up with that? i just want the dvd.

i'm about to order some nice paper for printing, but i've some questions. it's for an epson r2400 and i usually use either the velvet fine art or heavyweight matte depending on what the prints will be for. i'm looking for something that i can print onto and then go over with paint/pencil. the velvet fine art didn't work too well and am looking for some suggestions.

hahnemuhle photo rag might work, but has anyone used epson's watercolor paper?

so i told this guy i'd edit his bmx footage for him and we agree on a price. when we finish up at my house we're standing next to his car and he asks me if i snowboard. i tell him i used to go about 3-4 times a year but that was a couple years ago. he goes around to his trunk and pulls out a brand new nitro revolt board given to him by mountain dew and hands it to me on top of the price we'd agreed on. i couldn't believe it.

i'm working on a stop-motion piece and just shot a sequence in reverse order. does anyone know how to set up an action to rename a batch but in descending order, like file 1.jpg would become 0500.jpg, file 2.jpg -> 0499.jpg, etc? i can't seem to figure out a way to do this without having to rename all the images one-by-one. which would take hours. any help? am i overlooking something really easy/obvious?

Wacom w/ Dual Monitors May 4, 06, 5:10 p.m.

just got another monitor for my pb and i'm having a hard time configuring my tablet. right now the tablet's divided in half, with the left side controlling the powerbook monitor and the right side controlling the secondary monitor. i see in the wacom app that you can set the tablet to only work on one monitor, but i was wondering if anyone has set there's up where the whole tablet can be set to control each monitor. like, if i go all the way to the right and off of the powerbook monitor onto the secondary monitor can i then have the whole tablet dedicated to the new monitor? does that make any sense at all?

i'm getting used to the current setup, it's just a little awkward as the two monitors are different and it's a little squirrely going from one to the other.

any suggestions on setting up a wacom for dual monitors?
