@ 1:03 he says 'every webpage has an initial rank and that ranking grows and improves based on the number of ...backlinks."

and trooperbill u say "all websites have an inate authority"

Assuming both statements are true, if website authority is a measure of trust, and the website domain is freshly registered from a clean slate and the code wasn't reviewed by anyone at google before launch... How can it have any initial trust at all? Shouldn't the trust level be zero, meaning no domain authority? I based the previous statement on the quote below.

    https://ahrefs.com/website-autho…

quote: "Getting backlinks from more unique websites (referring domains) is the only way to improve your website’s Domain Rating (authority) score."

Which probably won't be done within hours of u launching your new website. So, how can you start with any authority at all?

Now, as far as the 1st statement goes: "every page has an initial rank"

If I understand correctly, even if I lack those crucial backlinks that would give my site authority (and as a consequence, page rank), I can *still* rank , at least in theory, if I craft my website to agree with these ranking factors,

    https://backlinko.com/google-ran…

for instance if I put the keyword I'm trying to rank for in H1 and put it in the title html tag, if I make the site load faster, if I add a table of contents to help google understand my site's heirarchy... All these on their own, even with no backlinks at all could in theory get me to rank in search results... right?

I know Trooperbill is busy lately so I'll likely be waiting a while for an answer. Anyone want to chime in, feel free. Hotroddy u around? Set me straight lol
