Are there any map designers out here? I am looking for various resources to customize maps and/or download vector files of google maps.
Yes, I know Mapbox and snazzy maps.
But I am just curious what other tools you would use?

I'm doing maps right now.
I use Google Maps as a base map and draw on top of it with Illustrator because I have to follow the company style. I've got an Illustrator template file setup with base colors, textures, icons.
I work within regions probably no larger than 500km.

- Palim, that is what I am currently doing but I was hoping to change roads, freeways, etc and not trace it. The regions I work in are about 20 milesHayoth
- We make less than 20 of these a year so we considered it wasn't worth investing the time to stylize our own.palimpsest

Just finished map designs for a project. I'm lucky to have a data-analyst on board to help me out plotting the basic stuff. After that i do the styling.
