The light turned red. The path of the human traffic disconnects. People that surrounds you are the most familiar of all strangers -- many of which you see everyday, some of which you don't bother, but little told you from their faces that you are new to the neighborhood. For the past two years, you have been at this traffic junction at a quarter hour past eight in the morning, and your attendance was almost as predictable as the train service. What warms your cold fingers is the same cup of coffee you picked from the prehistoric family-owned store round the corner. There was a similar store across the road, but since it's out of your immediate sphere of influence, you never saw the need to change.
