I am looking for recommendations on
a) Design Thinking
b) Design ProcessSpecifically, interested in digital design (sites, apps, etc.) but doesn't have to be limited to that.
I'm trying to rethink my work entirely and I want to start with the fundamentals. I want to review my approach and reboot my process. I want to do this with the best possible people and writing to influence my thinking.

Maybe I could phrase this another way.
How did you learn your design process? Aside from school and many years of work experience, how did you actually IDENTIFY your process? How did you DEFINE it?
- self taught - no design school; learn the basics, apply to different mediums with their specific requirementsgrafician
- process: Discover → Plan → Explore → Design → Delivergrafician
- you get thru experience and lots of projects to refine the process; being in a studio/agency helps - you get all their knowledge base when you leavegrafician

If you want to look like you follow "design thinking and process" you're going to need to become a writer.
Youll need to take your work samples in your portfolio and turn them into abstracts or research papers of your thinking and process and follow up thoughts.
Use this writing formula, it's simple stuff. Look at abstract templates and other research paper structures and adjust to what works to explain your projects.
If you do this correctly, your portfolio pieces will each look like a thesis, with a wall of copy separating pngs of your work going through the process to completion.
- actually good info, thanks robo!grafician
- NP. Here's a tip, always lead with the first image is a "beauty shot" of the completed project. Then begin telling the "story" from your angle of how it began.robotron3k

Almost all design processes that individuals or agencies “develop and brand” can be traced back to the classic double diamond method and theory.
In my opinion, each phase of your process should have an objective (not a tangible artifact, although it’s fine to have that as well) that gives you a sense of “okay I can move on to the next phase now.” For example your initial discovery phase might have an objective of “develop empathize, understand the problem.” The various tools, workshops, et al., that you conduct within each phase can be fluid. I’ve never thought of any design process as needing to be rigid or prescriptive.
Hope that helps in some way.

can you make love to a woman (or man) with a process? with charts, a methodology?
Design is a dance, a seduction, you figure it out by touching, smelling, feeling, by looking deep into its eyes and understanding its desires.
Design is sex. there is no other way.
